LIVED EXPERIENCE AS THE GREATEST TEACHER 🎤🎓

Following our Drug Education Campaign at the University of San Carlos (SAFAD Theatre), we are honored to share this special moment where Berta, once a client/patient of Safehaven Recovery Village and now working as assistant admin staff stood before the Carolinian community.

Berta didn’t just share a story, he shared his heart. By opening up about his journey, he turned his past struggles into a source of insight for the students. This is the essence of paying it forward--where we guide and nurture not just through textbooks, but through the raw, honest truth of transformation.

Watching the students listen intently to Berta was a reminder that education goes both ways. While we teach the youth about the risks of addiction, our scholars teach them about the power of resilience, the value of a second chance, and the dignity that can be reclaimed through recovery.

Thank you, Berta, for your courage to speak your truth. And thank you to the USC Circle of Landscape Architecture Students and OSFA for providing a platform where these voices can be heard and respected.

Together, we are designing a community rooted in understanding and compassion. 🕊️✨

Joel, also known as Nognog, has not only overcome his battle with addiction but has also embraced a new, productive life. After completing his treatment program in Safehaven last 2022, he dedicated himself to volunteering as kitchen staff at Safehaven for several years.

Recently Nognog was reunited with his family after many long years apart. His father came to Safehaven yesterday March 03,2026 to pick him up, and now they are back together in their home in the province.

Nognog's journey reflects not just recovery but also a newfound sense of purpose, culminating in the joy of reuniting with his loved ones.❤️

📸 Original Post & Photo Credit (Third Photo): Huge thanks to Coach Bop Buenaventura for capturing and sharing this moving milestone of Joel’s journey. Thank you for always documenting the heart of our mission!

Kumusta na si Ampol? ❤️

To everyone who has been asking, sending messages, and keeping John Paul Colina (familiarly known as Ampol) in your prayers, here is the update you’ve been waiting for!

Since his rescue and arrival at Safehaven Recovery Village, we have seen a beautiful prosperity of spirit in Ampol. He is beginning to embrace his new life with a quiet determination that inspires us all.

What’s new with Ampol?

💆Ampol is now learning the value of self-care. Just yesterday, our dedicated Occupational Therapists (OTs) spent time teaching him the proper way to wash his own clothes. Seeing him take pride in his personal belongings is a huge milestone in his recovery.

🏸 He’s no longer just an observer! Ampol has been joining our sports activities, showing his competitive and fun side on the badminton and volleyball courts.

From the streets of Cebu to the structured, loving environment of our village, Ampol is rediscovering what it feels like to have a routine, a purpose, and a community that truly cares.

Recovery isn't just about the big moments; it’s about these small, daily victories, like learning to wash a shirt or hitting a shuttlecock. It’s about restoring the dignity that life on the streets had taken away.

Thank you for your continued love for Ampol. Every message of support you send is a reminder to him that he is seen, he is valued, and he is home. ❤️

The key to effective counseling is listening – let them share, and they'll be more likely to listen to themselves 💡. It's about creating space for them to process and reflect 🙏.

Since arriving at Safehaven, Allen Conception, also known as Allen Go, has made significant progress in his recovery. He gained attention on social media for his ability to mimic everything said to him, but now he has progressed to the point where he can respond thoughtfully when asked questions.

Just yesterday March 01,2026 , he went with his big brother and recovery coach, Coach Vince, to get a haircut, marking another step in his journey.

Allen is not only improving physically but is also making emotional and spiritual gains each day. A heartfelt thank you goes out to Mayor Archieval, blogger Zanjy Saring , John Lumayag, and everyone who played a role in bringing Allen to Safehaven. Their trust in our approach, which centers on holistic care and faith in Jesus Christ, is helping to save and restore more lives.❤️

CULTIVATING HOPE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SAN CARLOS 🌿🎓

Safehaven Recovery Village was honored to be part of the University of San Carlos Student Discipline Week 2026!

Through the Agak Amuma: Pagkabana Program, we had the privilege of joining the Office of Student Formation and Activities (OSFA) and the USC Circle of Landscape Architecture Students for a vital Drug Education Campaign.

Held at the SAFAD Theatre, this initiative was more than just a seminar, it was a heartfelt discussion about awareness, prevention, and the prosperity of a healthy mind. We believe that by engaging with our future architects and designers, we are building a foundation of compassion and discipline that extends far beyond the classroom.

Thank you, USC, for opening your doors to Safehaven. Together, we are designing a future free from the shadows of addiction, one student, one conversation, and one Safe Haven at a time. ✨
