The rescue team, with the assistance of the Cebu province police, rescued a young man in his early 20's who was violent even to the point of scaring his family.

Thanks to their bravery and quick action, he's now safe at Safehaven, getting the help he truly needs.

The family's relieved and HOPEFUL again.❤️

This man we rescued yesterday is an American citizen who has been living on the streets of Cebu City for several years. According to those who knows about his story, he was abandoned by his Filipina girlfriend and is now struggling with addiction.

We are grateful to Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival for recognizing Bai Foundation and Safehaven's advocacy and for supporting our compassionate, Christ-centered approach to caring for those who are lost ,wounded and broken.

With the collaboration of Mayor Archival, John Lumayag from the Anti-Mendicancy team, and Ma'am Portia from the Department of Social Welfare and Services, we can confidently say now that Bai Foundation and Safehaven are no longer alone in this advocacy.❤️

Finally ato ng na rescue ang Amerikano na permi makita sa Baseline and Redemptorist Church🙏🏻

He will be receiving treatment and rehabilitation at Safehaven Recovery Village.

We are truly hopeful that he will recover soon and be reunited with his family in the US.

John Rey Catri, a former police officer, is now an advocate for Safehaven, alongside Manong Oscar Paraz, a well-known lechon business owner in Carcar famous for his delicious lechon.

Both men have overcome their struggles with addiction; John was once dependent on drugs, while Manong Oscar battled alcoholism.

After completing treatment at Safehaven, they have not only achieved sobriety but are also leading fulfilling lives with their families. Now, they dedicate their time to helping others recover, serving as inspiring examples for those still facing the challenges of addiction.❤️
