In France, daikons are gigantic. From where I came from, they are the same size as carrots. We call it Rabanos and we use it for soups like Sinigang. We also make it into a salad. The daikons here are as big as my son's arm. Yet, I find the gigantic ones sweeter and compact. It could be an offspring of an apple and a cucumber. It is sweet, crunchy, and watery, but it doesn't have that strong dizzying smell of the rabanos back home.
