11/12/2025 – Cebu Provincial Nutrition Council (CPNC) provided nutrition services

MUNICIPALITY OF LILOAN • Evacuation Centers:
Cotcot, Jubay, Sto. Niño (Tuburan Chapel), Poblacion PANPHIL

Activities Conducted:
• 📊 Rapid Nutrition Assessment (RNA)
• 💛 Vitamin A Supplementation
• 🍎 Micronutrient Powder (MNP) Provision
• 🤱 IYCFe Counselling

This nutrition response is crucial in evacuation settings, where children and mothers face higher health risks. Providing Vitamin A helps strengthen immunity, especially for nutritionally at-risk kids and those with diarrhea on top of the Zinc supplementation and ORS, while rapid nutrition assessments and ongoing malnutrition surveillance ensure early detection and timely care. These actions protect vulnerable families and support community resilience during emergencies!

Nangka National High School Evacuation Center 💜

The Balamban Rural Health Unit (RHU) continues its tireless efforts in serving communities affected by Typhoon Tino. 🌪️

At the Nangka National High School Evacuation Center, evacuees from the flooded areas have found temporary shelter — many staying on the upper floors for safety.
On duty at the center is Dr. Napoleon Macapaz, together with the dedicated RHU staff, ensuring that essential health services and assessments are continuously provided. 🩺

Despite the challenges of reaching the area — with roadblocks and debris along the way — the RHU team successfully conducted Rapid Nutrition Assessment and Initial Nutrition Needs Assessment to monitor the well-being of evacuees, especially children, pregnant and lactating women, and other vulnerable groups.

👏 We salute our Balamban health workers for their unwavering commitment and compassion in bringing health services where they are needed most.
