A huge congratulations to our very own care leaver, Mary Lyka Gabutan, for passing the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT)! 🎉

From patiently teaching dance steps to her younger SOS siblings during village events, to guiding and encouraging them through the years, Mary Lyka has always shown a heart for teaching long before she earned the title of “Licensed Professional Teacher.” Her dedication to both her academics and her SOS family has always been evident.

The past month was not easy, as Mary Lyka and her family were affected by Bagyong Tino. Yet even in the midst of hardship, she chose to stand strong, remain hopeful, and return home—not only to join our yearly December event, but to inspire her younger siblings with her presence, resilience, and story.

Your SOS Children’s Village Cebu family is incredibly proud of you, Lyka. You are living proof that perseverance, kindness, and faith can carry you through any storm. We are so excited to see how much more you will share with the world as you continue to chase your dreams and uplift others along the way. 🌟🩵
