Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC) is a common type of skin cancer that develops from the outer layer of the skin (epidermis) and is highly treatable when detected early. It often appears as a persistent scaly or thickened lesion, a firm bump, or a non-healing sore that may crust, ulcerate, or bleed. Risk is higher with chronic sun exposure, increasing age, and in individuals with weakened immune systems.
This case features an Excision Biopsy of a Well-Differentiated Squamous Cell Carcinoma, with before and after photos taken 3 months after the procedure, along with corresponding dermoscopic and histopathologic findings, highlighting the importance of early diagnosis and proper management by a board-certified dermatologist.
