Visiting one of the 4Freedom projects in Sambag2 Cebu today - Safe Families, where volunteers help a family in crisis with emotional support, Life coaching and minor needs, to lift them out of that crisis keeping the family together and keeping children safe.We were reminded of just how many children need play therapy, and how many would benefit in various ways from Therapeutic Play - even the mild to moderate cases can see their lives transformed with just a few sessions. However, the most important thing that children need is a safe and loving family, where they're given a voice, they feel heard & understood, and cherished. Thankfully, most parents can provide that, no matter what their economic situation looks like. Let's keep children safe.

We are grateful for the wisdom passed down to us and we honour the memories of those who have paved the way, making Play Therapy a respected profession today in many areas of the world. We pray that the Philippines will one day have enough registered, certified play therapists to meet the need.

Happy New Year from Cebu. Fireworks are beautiful, but they're gone in a moment. This year, 2026, invest in your future in ways that count long term, that help others too, and that can change children's lives - consider investing in your future as a Play Therapist. Although we love Fireworks, the truth is that many children get hurt in accidents, or feel traumatised by the noise - perhaps they can be our first clients in the New Year.
