Warmest congratulations to the VSMMC Digestive and Liver Center, Dr. Jane Estrabela Gargaritano, and her co-author, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘇𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲 of the 𝗩𝗦𝗠𝗠𝗖 𝗡𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗲 on the publication of their research on 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗲.

It is an honor to have this homegrown study featured in the second edition of the 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆.

We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this peer-reviewed, open-access body of knowledge and hope these findings serve as a helpful resource for our colleagues in the medical community.

We are honored to share a significant milestone for the VSMMC Digestive and Liver Center.

Our team recently performed its first surveillance colonoscopy using the 𝗔𝗼𝗵𝘂𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗼𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗽𝗲. This advanced system features 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗶𝗼𝘅𝗶𝗱𝗲 (𝗖𝗢𝟮) 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗳𝗳𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗜-𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗘𝗻𝗱𝗼𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗽𝘆 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺, which enhances both patient comfort and lesion detection.

On behalf of the entire VSMMC Digestive and Liver Center family, we want to extend a huge congratulations to our resident hepatologist, Dr. Hyacinth Cuadrasal Eviota.

She recently extended her expertise at a successful 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗨𝗹𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 as part of the 𝙃𝙎𝙋 𝘽𝙤𝙤𝙩 𝘾𝙖𝙢𝙥 𝙄𝙄, a vital part of the 𝗛𝗲𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀' campaign on liver disease awareness. This was conducted last August 9, 2025 at St Luke's Medical Center, BGC.

We're incredibly proud to see one of our own carrying the banner for VSMMC and for her dedication to both patient care and community education.

A 𝐡𝐮𝐠𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 to everyone who joined our 𝐇𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐬 𝐁 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐈𝐕 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲!

This was a proud 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 by the VSMMC Section of Gastroenterology and the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭.

We saw an amazing turnout for HBsAg and HIV testing, 𝙚𝙭𝙘𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨. Our lay forum was well-received and the mini-games and prizes added a wonderful element of fun!
