On January 6, 2026, our own residents and consultants have attended a very insightful Counselling Lecture & Workshop at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC).

We would like extend our deepest gratitude to the distinguished speaker, Allan R. Dionisio, MD, FPAFP, for sharing his invaluable expertise and practical strategies in conducting CEA.

It was an enriching afternoon attended by the dedicated Family Medicine residents and consultants CIM-HCVGH.

Events like these are crucial for sharpening the skills necessary for providing comprehensive and compassionate primary care.

Thank you to the Philippine Academy of Family Medicine, Inc (PAFP) and the Cebu Family Medicine Residents Association (CEFRA) for organizing this essential learning opportunity!

Our DIY resident as he started.... restarted the department training program post pandemic years.

Running solo was not easy. Adjusting to the Village culture started as a struggle then later was able to adjust, get along and made some friends and alliances.

Aclimatization to the department program and the standards of the hospital made his training a pleasant and fulfilling journey.

Lloyd Tria arrived as an ORE. passed thru several refinements and ultra filtrations, he came thru as an UPGRADED POLISHED VERSION of HIMSELF.

We are proud to present our department training graduate who intially looked up from the bottom and now a REFINED PROFESSIONAL.

The consultants and residents of the 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐞𝐛𝐮 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐞 – 𝐂𝐞𝐛𝐮 𝐕𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐳 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 conducted a series of health talks during the 𝑴𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓’𝒔 𝑪𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒔 2025, 𝒉𝒆𝒍𝒅 𝒐𝒏 𝑨𝒖𝒈𝒖𝒔𝒕 23, 2025, 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎𝒆 “𝑯𝒊𝒎𝒔𝒖𝒈 𝒏𝒈𝒂 𝑰𝒏𝒂𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝒔𝒂 𝑯𝒊𝒎𝒔𝒖𝒈 𝒏𝒈𝒂 𝑲𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒃𝒂𝒏”. The sessions covered a diverse range of topics, including mental health, oral health, budgeting and nutrition, reproductive health and fitness, as well as social media well-being.

These discussions aimed to empower mothers with knowledge and practical skills to enhance their personal health and promote the overall well-being of their families and communities.

With grateful hearts, we celebrate the success of our 12 Family and Community Medicine residents for achieving a 100% passing rate on the National Exam 1 held last June 15, 2025.

This milestone is a testament not just to individual effort, but to the support of mentors, colleagues, and everyone who continues to guide and inspire us in our journey of learning and service.

May this achievement inspire us to keep moving forward with humility, compassion, and dedication to the communities we serve.
