Providing the basic will give the employees of ISMC the knowledge,skills and confidence to respond effectively in life threatening emergencies,providing care that can sustain life until medical help arrives.

Importance of Handwashing, Influenza Like Illness and Foot and Mouth Disease tackled during the lecture series.

Global Handwashing Day 2025 - it aims to promote hand hygiene and raise awareness about the importance in preventing diseases. It educates individuals, communities, schools about the benefits of handwashing in preventing illnesses.

The Infection Prevention Control Committee led by Dr. Roland Zara conducted lecture about hand hygiene at Ilocos Sur Community College,they also included Hand,Foot and Mouth Disease and HIV lectures and other hospital services.

Childhood Cancer Awareness Month is recognized in September. A global campaign to increase awareness of pediatric cancer. Highlighting the importance of early detection and understanding the various types of childhood cancer.

Dr. Djimbo Alexis Oandasan together with the Infection Prevention Control (IPC) team led by Dr. Roland Zara,IPC Nurses Ms. Janice De Marie Olivas,Ms. Sylvia Lorma Ragasa,Public Health and Community Nurse Mr.Ralf Marion Querubin conducted lectures,awareness and proper handwashing technique at Caoayan Central School, Caoayan Ilocos Sur.

Awareness leads to action. It reminds us of the strength of kids and families facing cancer.

World Patient Safety Day
“Safe Care for Every Newborn and Every Child”

Ilocos Sur Provincial Hospital Gabriela Silang celebrated the World Patient Safety Day with a Photo Contest. The photo contest aims to creatively capture moments, practices and symbols that reflect Patient Safety in Action within the hospital and RHU setting. This initiative not only promotes awareness but also encourages collaboration and advocacy among our healthcare workers and stakeholders.
