“Having lived in Siargao in the last 7 years, the need to help out the community during this time of crisis naturally felt like the right thing to do. Although there were a lot of help being extended, we recognized the need for quality medical care for the people to happen simultaneously with the relief and rebuild. I was so lucky to be connected to such a dynamic team of medical and non-medical volunteers who selflessly shared their resources and time for the people of Siargao. What started as an initiative to Heal Siargao through health and wellness care, was actually a way for us to also heal with the community after the devastation caused by the typhoon.”
Meet our co-founder and non-medical volunteer, Dom Francisco. As a first time volunteer, she learned a lot about planning and executing medical missions through experienced medical volunteers. Our first medical mission happened 12 days post typhoon Odette, which was last December 28, 2021. With the help of Dom and My Siargao Guide , we were able to open a free clinic to help the people of Siargao❤️🩹
Heal Siargao would not have been possible without you, Dom! We’re grateful for everything that you’ve done to help the community. Salamat karajaw! 🙏🏾
We will accept medical volunteers for our May 22 to June 6 medical missions until April 30. You have 5 days to sign up! Just click the link below if you want to join us:
