✔️ Tubig at ready-to-eat food
✔️ Flashlight at extra batteries
✔️ First aid kit at personal medicines
✔️ Important documents (nakalagay sa waterproof pouch)
✔️ Whistle, face mask, alcohol, hygiene kit
✔️ Damit, kumot, at iba pang personal essentials

Isang Go Bag, bawat pamilya — malaking tulong sa kaligtasan.

A Tropical Cyclone, known locally as 'bagyo' in the Philippines is a weather disturbance that forms over warm waters and brings strong winds, heavy rain, and the possibility of flooding.

Here are the five tropical cyclone categories used by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), based on maximum sustained winds:

🌧 Tropical Depression (≤61 kph)
- Brings light to moderate rain. Flooding is possible in low-lying and coastal areas.

🌬 Tropical Storm (62–88 kph)
- Stronger winds and heavier rainfall. Minor damage to structures and crops may occur.

💨 Severe Tropical Storm (89–117 kph)
- Can uproot trees, damage houses, and disrupt power lines. Prepare emergency supplies early.

🌀 Typhoon (118–184 kph)
- Dangerous and destructive winds with intense rains that can trigger landslides and flash floods. Evacuate if necessary.

🌪 Super Typhoon (≥185 kph)
- Extremely powerful and life-threatening. Expect widespread devastation — follow all evacuation and safety orders.

Be informed, be prepared, and stay alert. Always monitor weather updates from PAGASA and from your local disaster risk reduction and management offices (DRRMOs).

‼️”TRANGKASO BYE-BYE!”

Successful Conduct of the WinS Orientation for School Alternate Coordinators!

The School Health and Nutrition Unit (SHNU) of DepEd Siargao Division successfully conducted the Orientation on Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene in Schools (WinS) for all School Alternate Coordinators held at the Siargao Convention Center on October 23, 2025.

This one-day capacity-building activity strengthened the commitment of school focal persons in promoting safe water, proper sanitation, and hygiene practices in schools — in line with DepEd Order No. 10, s. 2016.

The session was facilitated by WinS Division Focal Nurse Haidy T. Arciga and Alternate Focal Nurse Joe Pete Tiu, with the assistance of the three technical assistants — Levin Peña, Leidi Meien Virtudazo Jovero, and Melisa Mae Japson. 🙌

Guided by our Schools Division Superintendent Sir Manuel O. Caberte, ASDS Dr. Roel T. Diamante, and SGOD Chief Dr. Harem L. Taruc, the orientation aimed to deepen understanding of the WinS Three-Star Approach and ensure that every learner studies in a clean, safe, and healthy environment. 🌿

Congratulations to all participants for your active engagement and dedication to building across Siargao Island! Together, we make every school a and every learner a !
