know what ADHD is and what it isn't

📌WHAT ADHD IS AND WHAT IT IS NOT📌

Mommies, you are not alone...what is important is you have ways to cope with these issues and ways to destress

ANO NGA BA ANG IMPACT SA MGA NANAY KAPAG NAG-AALAGA NG ISANG BATANG MAY DISABILITY?

☑️SOCIAL ISOLATION

☑️FIRST TO FEEL FINANCIAL STRAIN

☑️RELATIONSHIP STRAIN

HOW TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

1. SEEK PROFESSIONAL HELP
Parents may feel overwhelmed or embarrassed to open up about their child's behavior and sometimes delay seeking professional help. Sometimes they may not realize that there is already a delay in skills. Early intervention is crucial for kids with disabilities. So kung may napapansin na na kakaiba, seek out professional help or ask people where to find it.

2. DO NOT BE OVERPROTECTIVE OF YOUR CHILD
It is understandable to be overprotective of your child and protect them from prying eyes, but overprotecting them can lead to lack of independence and self-confidence. For most kids, it is important that they can explore and learn from their own experiences.

3. DO NOT FOCUS ON THE DISABILITY
It's important for parents to recognize their child as a whole person, not just as their disability. They should encourage their child's interests and celebrate their successes, regardless of their disability.

4. STOP COMPARING
Parents may feel pressure to compare their child's progress to other children. We should realize that each child is unique and develops at their own pace. Comparing can lead to unrealistic expectations and undue stress to both parent and child.

5. GETTING INVOLVED IN YOUR CHILD'S EDUCATION AND INTERVENTION
Fathers especially tend to not get involved in their child's education and intervention and can miss out on opportunities to form a bond with their children. Fathers play an important role in being a role-model to their kids, providing emotional support and in modeling positive social behaviors.

6. RESEARCHING AND UNDERSTANDING YOUR CHILD'S DIAGNOSIS
Parents who do not educate themselves about their child's diagnosis may struggle to understand their child's needs which can lead to ineffective support. This can limit your child's progress and may lead to many difficulties not just in skills but in socio-emotional repercussions in the future.
