Twenty-two years ago, OT was an obscure concept here in Davao, mainly related to special needs children, it still is today, but the idea has broadened to teens and adults. There were no private clinics unlike today, therapists then either go the client/s or are affliated with hospitals or non-profit groups that provide medical care. The OT course was not offered then, it was the era of Nursing and Physical Therapy, if you want to become an OT, you go study in Manila or Cebu. The whole landscape of the profession and service of OT 22 years ago has greatly progressed, but one thing has been constant, Mindworks Therapy Center. We never expected that all our hardwork and dedication could lead to seeing our kids live fruitful and meaningful lives. It has been a long road since, names and faces have become a blur, but a courtesy visit every now and then from former kids and their families and even former therapists make us realize just how worthwhile those sacrifices we had to make. We celebrate our wins everyday, even if those wins means sitting more than 5 minutes and not tip toeing. So yeah, nothing grand or extravangant, just a lowly "pioneer" center feeling nostalgic of all the things that has happened for the past 22 years. We are indeed grateful to everyone who has been there all throughout our journey. Thank you for staying ang believing in our capabilities. We do what we do for all of you. Thank you. 🩵💚💛🧡
