Happy na birthday pa!!

Happy birthday to one of our core research faculties, Doc Lyka!

They say some people lead with their minds, but our birthday celebrant today leads with her soul. Whether she's at home raising her beautiful twins or at work guiding her students and her team, she radiates a "motherly vibe" that makes everyone feel seen, heard, and deeply understood. There's not a lot of those people.

Let's not forget that while she's a mother, she is also a wife, a sister, and a daughter, and a person of trust in our office.

Thank you for being the person who "gently leads" us all with so much kindness and wisdom. May your year ahead be as "double-blessed" as you have made our lives!

Once again, happy birthday to you, Doc Lyka (Lyka Plata)!

Let's give our birthday celebrant our best wishes!

greetings from DMSFI Telemedicine, DMSFI Center for Research and Development, Davao Medical School Foundation, Inc.

Happiest birthday to the work-and-life balance advocate from CRD, sir Era!

While he brings his expertise and experience in the fields such as quality assurance, human resources, and product management to our office and to our activities, he also brings soft skills and radiates them positively to his peers' day-to-day life.

On this day and age where there's too much pressure in work and finish tasks before the deadline to look good, sir Era reminds us to have a work-life-balance. He's a walking reminder that despite work being an important part of the daily life of an ordinary people, it's important to have boundaries. Whether it be going to the gym, hiking, running, late-night snacks with or without friends (all these are what he does and more, by the way), it's important to do something for yourself outside work hours.

When we asked our peers about what's unique about our celebrant today, well, apart from being generous (among his other great qualities) only his close (close?) friends in his circle can jokingly say he has no unique thing about him; him just being a commoner, and just having a blast! I'm sure our sir Era appreciates this! Regardless, we also give you this line of a song:

"It's a new dawn, it's a new day, it's a new life for me, and I'm feeling good" - Feeling Good by Michael Bublรฉ
. and we hope this is true to you, regardless of your close friends' comments ๐Ÿ˜‚

Keep making those creative Instagram captions and being aesthetic and authentic in your poses!

Maybe you have a personal message you want to say to him that you can share in the comments, we'd love to hear them!

From your new CRD fam, happiest birthday to you, sir Era (Eramark Logronio)!

greetings from Research and Development Center for Maternal and Child Health, DMSFI Center for Research and Development, Davao Medical School Foundation, Inc.

Happiest birthday to one of our girlies, ma'am Kez!

Welp, it's another year. But what's nice about this year? You lived for another year. And that's worth celebrating! I'm sure your sister agrees-- despite the sisterly bouts. ;)

In the office, we found ma'am Kez to be such a smiley person. Her peers in their little office attest to this. She's one of the few people in CRD who's blessed enough to design a creative work; it's such a great addition to our capabilities! Moreover, combined with her being such a generous and kind person, and with her being passionate in what she does, makes her a really outstanding member of the team.

As one of our team says, "she has refined work" and we know it's just a shortened form-- that she produces such high-quality and great outputs.

Once again, happiest birthday to you, ma'am Kez (Keziah Bante)!

Got some happy moments with her? Share in the comments!

Last February 25-27, 2026, CRD and ReDMatCH staffs conducted a comprehensive yet informative workshop on metabolomics data annotation, data processing, and statistical analysis.

Our learners were from the Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) in its NICER project about Garlic Metabolomics.

The workshop comprised of four (4) modules.

- The first module covered a lecture on sample preparation, natural products and clinical protocols, and setting up of software (ProteoWizard & GNPS) that will be used for the duration of the workshop.
- The second module covered a lecture on LC-MS principles that included its background, instrumentation, and fundamentals.
- The third module covered sample data processing and an introduction to GNPS. On the same module, the trainees also had their first hands-on the how's of the several software for metabolomics. A within-reach discussion on the data pre-processing and statistical data analyses were also covered.
- The fourth and last module covered more GNPS hands-on training for metabolite annotation.

Besides the lectures and workshop, the the learners also visited DMSFI-CRD's Old and New Laboratory, and the DMSFI Anatomy Laboratory Museum.

Huge thanks for the workshop lectures namely Nelly Grace F. Toรฑacao, RCh, Ariane Blanch Maraon, RCh, MSc, Jestoni L. Bracero, Sheena Bulaong, RCh, and John Calorio. We also would like to thank the people who have made this workshop possible namely Eramark Logronio, RCh, Ley Ofima, Jessica Enciso, and Miss Glendy Torres Tampipi, and all others.

We would also like to thank MMSU for trusting us to train your research personnel.

Did you know that many children are failing to reach their full height and brain power not just because of a lack of food, but because of how their bodies react to their environment? New research shows that stunting is a serious condition caused by hidden health issues like gut problems and constant infections. This doesn't just make a child short; it affects their intelligence and their future success in life!

We cannot wait until it's too late. It is time to prioritize clean surroundings, better nutrition, and regular health checks for our little ones. Letโ€™s protect our childrenโ€™s future today! Share this to spread awareness and save a childโ€™s growth!

"I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you." - Psalm 32:8

Today, we celebrate one of the core individuals of the ReDMatCH Program. A project lead of one of the program's three ongoing projects. She is Dr. Agnes B. Padilla.

There will be times when we are lost in what are we supposed to do next. But luckily, we have our own Doc Agnes! She has the gift for "instructing and teaching us in the way we should go."

There will also be times when the environment seems to be too serious. And, there she goes. Her perfectly-timed jokes are just what her team needed. In a bit long discussion, her sense of humor is often what her team needs to be freed from stress.

Thank you for leading one of the projects of ReDMatCH with such integrity, wisdom, and wit. We hope your day is filled with as much joy as you bring to our team.

Help us wish Doc Agnes a fantastic birthday in the comments below!

"The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light." - Matthew 6:22

With bursting energy, as she is, we celebrate a birthday of one of our most vibrant team members! Who, you ask? She's Maria Isabel Havana Blanco, aka Mabel!

In our line of work, we often talk about "perspective," but Mabel truly embodies the wisdom of our verse today. Whether sheโ€™s capturing a stunning moment through her camera lens or bringing a fresh "eye" to her current project, she reminds us that how we choose to see the world determines the light we carry.

If youโ€™ve walked past her office, youโ€™ve likely felt the "bubbly" energy she brings. She is a true friend to all, a carefree spirit who knows exactly who she is. We know her as our resident "open book"; whether itโ€™s a funny story from the weekend or a very (very!) honest opinion on a new idea, her transparency is what keeps our team culture so authentic.

Beyond research, she's either in the gym, dancing (seriously, her splits are legendary!), or even conquering hiking trails.

Thanks so much Mabel for bringing your light, your opinions, and your creative eye to our team every single day.

From all your CRD fam, we wish you a very Happy Birthday!

Help us wish her a very Happy Birthday in the comments!
