A powerful 7.6-magnitude earthquake struck Davao Oriental and nearby provinces on October 10, 2025, leaving thousands of families displaced and causing heavy damage to homes, hospitals, schools, and vital infrastructure. According to PHIVOLCS, several areas in Davao de Oro, Davao Oriental, and parts of the Caraga Region experienced Intensity VII shaking. The tremor also prompted tsunami alerts and widespread fear across the region.
In response to this tragedy, the Brokenshire College School of Medicine โ Medical Student Council, Davao Medical School Foundation, Inc.- Medical Student Council, Jose Maria College of Medicine Foundation Inc. โ Medical Student Council, and the University of Southern Philippines โ School of Medicine Student Council, together with the APMC-SN Mindanao, are launching โKASANDIGAN: Project Pagbangon para sa Mindanao Quake Victims.โ
This initiative aims to extend assistance to affected families and communities through coordinated donation efforts among student councils across Mindanao.
The councils are working closely with local authorities and relief centers to ensure proper coordination, delivery, and transparency of all aid received.
Donation Period: October 14โ17, 2025
Distribution Schedule: October 21โ24, 2025
Monetary Donations may be sent through the official accounts or QR codes of Davao Medical School Foundation, Inc. โ College of Medicine Supreme Student Council (DMSF-COM SSC).
In-kind donations (such as canned goods, bottled water, medicines, blankets, hygiene kits, and clothing) may be dropped off at the DMSF Student Council Office.
