Cancer remains a significant global health challenge, affecting millions of individuals and their families each year. In 2024, an estimated 2,001,140 nee cases will be diagnosed in the United States alone, with 611,720 fatalities anticipated.

In the Philippines, cancer has become the third leading cause of death worlwide. According to Dr. Rosario Pitargue, President of the Philippine Society of Medical Oncology, there are 184 new cancer cases diagnosed per 100,000 individuals annually, and 96 cancer-related deaths reported daily.

Understanding cancer prevention is a crucial key component in the fight against cancer. By identifying risk factors we can reduce the likelihood of developing certain cancers.
