Rotary Club of South Davao Extends Heartfelt Condolences

Last October 24, members of the Rotary Club of South Davao came together at Cosmopolitan Funeral Homes, Camus, to pay their final respects to the beloved mother of Past President Noel Villa-Abrille.

In times of grief, we find strength in unity. As one Rotary family, we extend our deepest sympathies and heartfelt prayers to our dear fellow Rotarian and his family. May the love and comfort of friends and loved ones help ease the pain of their loss.

Rotary Life Goes On

Rotary Club of South Davao held its regular meeting and monthly fellowship last October 22, 2025, at the CEO Room, Bistro Rosario - a venue with a fine ambiance befitting its name, “The Boardroom.”

Though the Pinnacle Hotel, our usual meeting place, remains under structural assessment and is awaiting clearance from the City Building Official following the recent earthquake, our Rotary spirit remains unshaken.

Challenges may test our footing, but true Rotarians stand firm - ever committed to service, fellowship, and continuity. Indeed, Rotary life goes on.

Rotary Club of South Davao Extends a Hand to Earthquake Victims in Manay, Davao Oriental

Last October 21, 2025, the Rotary Club of South Davao, under the leadership of President Sonja Garcia, embarked on a heartfelt mission to Manay, Davao Oriental, journeying over five hours from Davao City to reach communities affected by the recent earthquake.

Through the generous support of our fellow Rotarians and kindhearted donors, we were able to extend relief to 100 families, bringing not only aid but also a message of hope and solidarity.

Along the way, the team paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Lorenzo Rabat, Vice Mayor of Mati City, as a gesture of fellowship and collaboration in serving the people of Davao Oriental.

This endeavor stands as a testament to Rotary’s unwavering spirit -that service transcends distance and compassion knows no boundaries. When hearts unite in purpose, even the farthest journey becomes a meaningful one.

We encourage everyone to continue supporting our initiatives as we strive to make a lasting difference, one community at a time.

Bringing Clearer Vision and Brighter Tomorrows

A total of 29 patients from Brgy. Ilang, SIR, and Calinan completed their final check-up at the Seventh-day Adventist Hospital - a vital step before their upcoming cataract operations.

This meaningful medical mission is spearheaded by the Rotary Club of South Davao, under the leadership of President Sonja Garcia, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Bentleigh Moorabbin Central, Share Me a Dream Foundation (Australia), and Mabuhay Deseret Foundation.

Together, we bring hope, healing, and the gift of sight to our indigent senior citizens, turning compassion into action.

This is Rotary - where service brings light to others’ lives.

What an incredible day of fellowship, fun, and friendly competition at the 2025 Rotary Area 2 Inter-Club Bowling Tournament held at SM Lanang Bowling Center, Davao City!

Hosted by the Rotary Club of South Davao, the event brought together Area 2 clubs in the true spirit of camaraderie, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Every strike, spare, and cheer showed the passion and unity that make Rotary truly special.

Congratulations to all the winners and participating clubs for your energy, effort, and Rotary spirit throughout the games!
