Davao del Sur State College, through the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS) and the College Infirmary and Care Center (CICC), in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross โ€“ Davao del Sur Chapter, successfully conducted the Blood Letting Activity 2025 last December 16, 2025 at the DSSC Dev-Com Building.

The activity was made meaningful through the active and voluntary participation of students, faculty members, non-teaching personnel, and other members of the DSSC community, who generously donated blood in support of Republic Act No. 7719, promoting voluntary, non-remunerated blood donation.

This initiative not only helped ensure a safe and sufficient blood supply for those in need but also strengthened awareness on the importance of blood donation, compassion, and shared responsibility in saving lives. The strong support and cooperation of the participants reflect DSSCโ€™s continuing commitment to community service, public health advocacy, and humanitarian efforts.

Our heartfelt appreciation goes to all donors, volunteers, and partners who made this life-saving activity a success. โค๏ธ๐Ÿฉธ

The Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) reaffirms its strong support for the implementation of Republic Act No. 7719, also known as the National Blood Services Act of 1994, which underscores the vital importance of voluntary, non-remunerated blood donation (VNRBD) in ensuring a safe, sufficient, and reliable blood supply for all Filipinos.

Voluntary blood donation is more than an act of kindnessโ€”it is a lifeline that strengthens our nationโ€™s healthcare system. By investing in effective donor recruitment and retention programs, fostering public awareness, and promoting the culture of altruism that VNRBD embodies, we contribute to a more resilient and responsive healthcare infrastructure. The collective effort of the Filipino people to embrace voluntary blood donation reflects our deep compassion, solidarity, and sense of community.

In line with this commitment, the DSSC School Infirmary, in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross โ€“ Davao del Sur Chapter, will conduct a bloodletting activity on December 16, 2025. This initiative is part of our ongoing advocacy to promote voluntary blood donation and support Republic Act No. 7719.
