Make New Year words meaningful by pairing them with actions your preschooler can see, touch, and do:

🎁 Gift – Let your child open a small box or bag. Model the phrase, “Open the gift.”
🎉 Surprise – Hide a toy under a cup. Model the word, “Surprise.”
🎨 Decorate – Let your child place stickers, streamers, or drawings. Model the phrase, “Let’s decorate.”
🥳 Celebrate – Clap, dance, or blow party horns together. Model the expression, “Hoorraayy.”

💡 Preschool tip:
Use short phrases, repeat the word often, and pause to allow your child to respond through actions, sounds, pointing, or words. All attempts count as communication.

✨ Big language grows from small, playful moments—especially during the New Year.

Dressing is an everyday life skill—and teaching your child how to dress and button doesn’t have to feel like a stressful activity. With patience, consistency, and the right strategies, everyday routines can become meaningful learning moments.

Start with pretend play—buttoning a doll’s shirt, dressing up a teddy, or playing “costume time” to make learning fun and pressure-free. Once the skill is emerging, gently transfer it to their own clothes, allowing plenty of room for mistakes. Errors are part of learning, and confidence grows when children are free to try, explore, and try again. 💛
