‼️ Perfect balance after STROKE‼️

➖these are three of my stroke patients at their 70's who had a history of at least 2 stroke episodes and was able to achieve normal walking patterns.

➖ aside from hand function, the PT's responsibility is to promote independent functional recovery and increase self- confidence to perform tasks they thought they would never experience after having a stroke.

➖ given the situation of having multiple stroke episodes, it didn't prevent them from improving their balance and regain strength for our lower extremity drills!

‼️ Gross and Fine motor skills ACHIEVED on a spastic hand in just 2 months of Physical Therapy ‼️

➖ This is my patient JZ , who I posted about 2 months ago. If you have watched his video, you could see how far we have improved.

➖ One of his main goals is to be able to use his affected hand again. With strict compliance to PT home care instruction, the px was able to perform a lot of gross and fine motor exercises which he thought he could never do again.

➖ To be able yo see the smile on his face as he was able to perform every exercise well, make my job worth it.

📍STROKE 📍STROKE 📍STROKE

➖ This is the case of my patient LG, who may had a moderate/severe stroke 5 months ago. Due to advanced age, severity of stroke and other comorbidities; this have rendered px to have a slower pace of improvements.

➖ In this video, I'm very happy to see how my patient was able to improve with regards to endurance and tolerance of performing all PT managements.

➖ Through constant exercises done by the family, it enabled the px to not have any deformity or abnormal walking patterns.

➖ We still have a long way to go, but still, small progress is still progress. Celebrating each small mountain of improvements along the way.

➖ Movement is medicine; and, Physical Therapists are experts in movement.

‼️ From Walker to Cane in less than 2 MONTHS ‼️

➖ Cases such as this , can readily be achieved if the px had a MILD STROKE.

➖ Every patient is different. They present with a wide range of weaknesses and comorbidities which can affect the rehab potential.

➖ Special thanks to their previous PT who helped improve the condition prior to walking exercises.

➖ Contact your trusted Physical Therapist to make such individualized exercise protocol to avoid abnormal walking patterns!

➖This is my patient JZ , who has a history of 2 stroke episodes in 1 year. Patient was able to regain strength of lower extremity however, hand control was difficult due to spasticity and weakness.

➖ This was our second session together and I could already see improvements. Special thanks to the previous PT who administered care during the first few months after stroke.

➖ Right now,PT sessions are mainly focused on regaining dexterity of right extremity since this is his dominant hand. We still have a long way to go but I'm positive of his rehab potential.

➖ Stroke patients are different from each other. That is why exercises are individually modified for each case. Please contact your trusted Physical Therapist to make such evaluation.

Physical Therapy Works! Movement is medicine!

This is a case of RR, a px with a history of Three Stroke episodes. Px came in under my care with severe spasticity of left arm and a muscle grade of 1/5 for left leg.

With continuous exercises done by the PT and support of family members , the patient have since improved and has become more independent in doing activities of daily living.

Early intervention is always the key to prevent complications such as
1. Typical Arm positioning (curling of fingers,wrist and elbow
2: Circumducted gait ( abnormal walking pattern)

To prevent such from happening, contact one of your trusted and LICENSED Physical Therapist. Be aware of people posing as such and offers "hilot " as form of therapy.
