🌿 Roots of Healing: Traditional Medicine Awareness 🌿

Traditional Filipino healing practices are deeply rooted in culture, community, and respect for nature. Indigenous medicinal plants such as lagundi, sambong, bayabas, tsaang gubat, luyang dilaw, and luya have long supported health and wellness across generations.

As future healthcare professionals, recognizing how traditional knowledge and modern medicine can work togetherallows us to provide more holistic, culturally sensitive care. Healing is not only about treatment—it is also about listening, learning, and honoring where our patients come from.
🤍 Bridging heritage and science, for the health of our communities.

SUMS Goes Regional!

The Silliman University Medical School is set to make its mark in the Regional APMC-SN Convention at UV–Gullas College of Medicine in Mandaue City, Cebu, on January 22–24. Our students will compete in the Medical Quiz Bee Competition, Interscholastic Medical Debate Competition, and Clinico-pathologic Case Competition, putting their knowledge, reasoning, and clinical acumen on full display — driven by passion, guided by purpose, and committed to excellence in service.

Representing the medical student body are Senior Representative Adrian Recapente, Junior Representative Suzette Aragon, SUMSA President Ayla Veremeika Gaudiel together with our Dean, Dr. Jennifer Barimbao. In strong support of the event, dedicated VolCorp members are also deployed to usher the academic competitions and the regional convention exemplifying service, teamwork, and commitment to excellence.

✨ Excellence in action. Leadership in service.

Show your support and cheer for SUMS! 💪🏽🎉
