LOOK | FLORA DISTRICT HOSPITAL OPENS ITS CHRISTMAS VILLAGE

The Flora District Hospital (FDH) welcomed the Christmas season this evening, December 1, as it lit up its own Christmas Village. Prepared by the hospital staff, the setup served as a simple gathering point for employees and guests to open the month with a bit of warmth and cheer.

Provincial Administrator Arnold Castillo and Provincial Health Officer I Dr. Jay-jay Roaquin joined the FDH team during the lighting ceremony and commended the staff for keeping the tradition alive. The Christmas Village will remain open throughout the month as FDH continues its work while celebrating the spirit of the season.

Flora District Hospital commenced the first Monday of December 2025 with a solemn and dignified Flag Raising Ceremony, joined by the dedicated employees of the institution and led by our Chief of Hospital, Dra. Amy Liza V. Maruquin.

This monthly gathering serves as a reminder of our collective commitment to public service, unity, and the values that guide our work as health workers in the community. As we enter the final month of the year, the ceremony also became an opportunity to reflect on our accomplishments, renew our dedication, and strengthen our shared mission of delivering quality healthcare to the people of Flora and the province of Apayao.

With the participation of all departments, the activity once again highlighted the spirit of teamwork and professionalism that defines Flora District Hospital. Together, we look forward to a productive and service-driven month of December.

The Flora District Hospital proudly took part in the 23rd Regional Conference of Human Resource Management Practitioners in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) held on November 25โ€“26, 2025. This annual gathering brought together HRM leaders and practitioners from various government agencies to strengthen collaboration, enhance policy awareness, and promote excellence in human resource management within the region.

Representing the hospital was Chief of Hospital ๐ƒ๐ซ. ๐€๐ฆ๐ฒ ๐‹๐ข๐ณ๐š ๐•. ๐Œ๐š๐ซ๐ฎ๐ช๐ฎ๐ข๐ง, Administrative Officer IV ๐•๐ข๐ฅ๐ฆ๐š ๐•. ๐‚๐š๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐จ, and Administrative Assistant I ๐‹๐ž๐ฑ๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐ซ ๐‹. ๐ƒ๐š๐ ๐ฎ๐ข๐ฆ๐จ๐ฅ. The activity served as a platform to present key performance indicators, accomplishments, and challenges encountered throughout the first ten months of the year. Through a thorough assessment of hospital programs and services, the team emphasized its continued commitment to improving healthcare delivery and strengthening operational systems for the benefit of the community.

Flora National High School immersions took their first steps into the hospital environment as they attended an orientation and tour designed to familiarize them with the facilityโ€™s operations, policies, and key departments.

The orientation session, held in the waiting area of the Hemodialysis Center together with the unit heads of the different department.

The session provided them with essential guidelines on hospital protocols, safety measures, and proper conduct while inside the premises.
The students were also introduced to the different departments and briefed on their roles, responsibilities, and limitations during their immersion. Dr. Amy Liza Maruquin, emphasized the importance of professionalism, adherence to hospital policies, and maintaining a compassionate approach when interacting with patients and staff.

After the immersionists were given the briefing, they were led on a comprehensive hospital tour, providing them with firsthand exposure to various critical areas, including the emergency room, inpatient wards, laboratories, dental and even in the dialysis center.

The program aimed to ensure that they are fully prepared, informed, and ready to observe and assist under the supervision of the hospital staff. With the orientation completed, the immersionists are now set to begin their hospital experience, where they will gain valuable insights into the fast-paced world of healthcare.
