Today, we concluded the 3-part Evidence Based Medicine lecture series lovingly prepared by our TO, Dr. Pura Jacobe Bascuña-Gaddi with a very challenging and time-pressured OSCE.

Evidence Based Medicine is one of the core competencies in the Family and Community Medicine specialty. It enables us to integrate the latest research evidence in the context of our clinical expertise and patients’ profiles to further specialize individual patient care.

Practical tests such as these not only prepare us for future examinations but also shape a more critical and evidence based way of thinking among us, as 7-star Family physicians. ✨

SATURDAY CLUB

Our 2nd EBM WORKSHOP was held today where we had a short recap on the previous discussion of EBM on Therapy and the discussion proper of EBM on Diagnostics with the help of our beloved and dedicated TO, Dr. Pura Jacobe Bascuña-Gaddi.

Evidence based medicine is one of our core competencies as future family physicians and the mastery of this challenging craft can help us make sound recommendations to optimize healthcare for our patients.

Through the collective efforts of the Bicol Medical Center - Department of Family and Community Medicine, Phu Public Health Unit, our beloved and supportive administrators along with the DOH Bicol CHD, and the Local Government Units of Bicol, we continue to advance toward universal healthcare in providing more accessible primary care services for Bicolanos thru BUCAS (Bagong Urgent Care and Ambulatory Services) Center at Cadlan, Pili, Camarines Sur, inaugurated this 16th of June, 2026.

We are looking forward to giving our fellow Bicolanos the kind of quality healthcare they truly deserve!
