Stroke Awareness: BE FAST and Save Lives!
A stroke is a medical emergency that happens when the blood flow to the brain is blocked or reduced. Without oxygen, brain cells start to die within minutes — that’s why every second counts.
Remember the acronym BE FAST to recognize the warning signs:
B – Balance: Sudden loss of balance or coordination
E – Eyes: Sudden blurred or double vision
F – Face Drooping: One side of the face droops or feels numb
A – Arm Weakness: Weakness or numbness in one arm
S – Speech Difficulty: Slurred or hard-to-understand speech
T – Time to Call for Help: Act fast and seek emergency care immediately!
Stroke can be prevented by living a healthy lifestyle — control blood pressure, eat nutritious foods, avoid smoking and alcohol, exercise regularly, and get regular health check-ups.
Stay alert. Know the signs. Act FAST. Save lives.
Together, let’s build a stroke-free and healthier community!
