With the heavy rains and flooding in many areas, please watch out for these common illnesses that tend to rise during typhoon season:

1. Flu (Influenza) – Sudden high fever, chills, and body aches. If you have flu-like symptoms, get checked early — flu vaccines are available at Patient First.

2. Dengue Fever – Transmitted by mosquitoes that breed in stagnant water. Look out for high fever, rashes, and severe body pain. We offer CBC with Platelet Count, Dengue NS1, and Dengue IgM/IgG tests with results within 2 hours.

3. Leptospirosis – Can occur after contact with contaminated floodwater. If you develop fever and muscle pain after wading through floods, get tested right away.

4. Common Cold – Often mild but can lead to complications if left untreated, especially when your immune system is low.

Stay indoors and dry as much as possible, and keep emergency medicines and drinking water ready.

If you or your family experience fever lasting more than 3 days, shortness of breath, frequent vomiting, or signs of dehydration, don’t wait it out — consult a doctor immediately.
