World AIDS Day 2025 | December 1
โOvercoming Disruption, Transforming the AIDS Responseโ
World AIDS Day 2025 reminds us that the fight against HIV is at a critical crossroads. Despite years of progress, disruptions in life-saving services continue to place many communities at risk. Still, hope endures through strong political leadership, international cooperation, and human-rights centered health care.
๐ต๐ญ In the Philippines, the urgency is clear. More than 5,000 new HIV cases were reported in the first quarter of 2025 alone an average of 57 cases per day. A large number of these cases involved youth aged 15โ24, with males comprising the majority, underscoring the need for stronger education, prevention, and community-based health initiatives.
๐ค In response, the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center (CRMC), in partnership with the Department of Health, MOH-BARMM, Cotabato City Health Office, and POGS-SMC Cotabato / PPALMA Chapter, held a World AIDS Day Forum entitled
โEmpowered Women, Healthy Communities: Awareness Forum on the Impact of STIs and HIV in Sexual Health.โ
Held at the CRMC Grand Auditorium, the forum gathered over 500 participants including barangay health workers, educators, students, faith leaders, and health advocates showing a united commitment to raise awareness, promote prevention, and protect sexual health.
โค๏ธ Together, through awareness, compassion, and action, we can end AIDS by 2030.
