Gumaca district hospital GUMACA GENERAL HOSPITALl was first establshed as an Emergency Hospital under the initiative of Ex-Congressman Leon Guinto, Jr.

as authorized under the National Budget of 1957-1958 with an initial appropriation of fifty thousand pesos for its operation. It was on January 16, 1958 when Gumaca Emergency Hospital was formally inaugurated by then Congressman Leon Guinto, Jr. to provide emergency hospital care to the people of Gumaca and nearby municipalities. It started with an authorized capacity of 25 beds consisting of 28 pioneer employees out of the approved 31 plantilla positions. Dr. Cesar Angulo served as the pioneer Chief of Hospital (1958-1960)
