In the aftermath of Typhoon Tino, the Rural Health Unit staff promptly mobilized to conduct post-disaster health monitoring in various evacuation centers of Hindang, Leyte. Medicines were distributed to those who were sick, and basic health consultations were provided to ensure that essential health services remained accessible.

The Municipality of Hindang, Leyte, proudly accomplished both the Internal and External Verification for the Philippine Multisectoral Nutrition Project (PMNP) Performance-Based Grant (PBG) Tranche II this October 2025.

The activity, spearheaded by the Department of Health โ€“ Eastern Visayas CHD for Internal Verification last September 24-25, 2025 and Lochan and Company for Third Party Verification last October 22-23,2025, assessed Hindangโ€™s implementation of maternal and child health, nutrition, and community-based programs under PMNP.

The process included an entrance and exit conference, feedback sessions, and field validation (Brgy. Anolon) โ€” all highlighting the unity, commitment, and teamwork of LGU Hindang officials headed by Mun. Mayor, Hon. Elpidio B. Cabal Jr., Mun. Vice Mayor, Hon. Jun A. Cabal, SB on Health Hon. Teodulo A. Clavejo, Department Heads ,MPMO, RHU staff, and community partners.

This achievement reaffirms the municipalityโ€™s strong partnership among leaders, health workers, and community members โ€” all working hand in hand to ensure that quality health and nutrition services reach even the farthest barangay of Hindang.
