• With formal training as a hemodialysis technician.
• With updated BLS training
• Must have knowledge in caring of patients with kidney problem.
a. Set-up and primes hemodialysis bloodlines and dialyzer needed for patient’s treatment.
b. Ensures proper labelling, reuse process and maintenance of patient’s dialyzers as indicated in the Dialyzer Handling Protocol.
c. Conducts and record TDS Meter reading daily before the start of treatment day and monitors HD machines every after treatment day. Documents pertinent data to “Hemodialysis Machine Daily Monitoring Record” form.
d. Conducts preventive maintenance quarterly every last Sunday of January, April, July, and October, annual preventive maintenance every last Sunday of January and corrective maintenance of hemodialysis machines as required.
e. Conducts and record daily monitoring of RO system to “RO Daily Monitoring Sheet” form.
f. Conducts scheduled RO sanitation as indicated (Refer to Water Treatment protocol).
g. Facilitates water sample for periodic water analysis as scheduled (Refer to Water Treatment protocol).
h. Documents and records maintenance of hemodialysis machines and RO system.
i. Assists in weighing and transportation of patients before and after hemodialysis treatment.
j. Assists nurses as well as physicians as required, and may perform basic administrative duties such as answering the phone and data entry and filling.
k. Reports to the Nurse Manager all necessary records, data, and problems needed immediate attention
l. Clean hemodialysis machines and treatment chairs after use of each patient and on a routine basis following Housekeeping Protocol.
m. Other responsibilities may include cleaning and sanitizing dialysis treatment areas based on schedule following Housekeeping Protocol.
