THE VIRTUES OF PREGNANCY IN ISLAM

When a woman is pregnant with a child, all the angels will make Istighfar (repentance) on her behalf
ALLAH will, for each day of her pregnancy, write for her 1000 good deeds and erase from her 1000 bad deeds.

When a pregnant woman starts to feel the pain from contractions, ALLAH will write in her records as someone who is doing jihad (spiritual or physical struggle) in His path.

When a woman becomes pregnant by her husband and he is pleased with her, she obtains the reward of a person engaging in fasting for ALLAH and a person spending the night in ibaadah (worship).

A woman from the time of pregnancy until childbirth and weaning the baby, is like the Mujahid (someone fighting in the path of Allah, swa) who is stationed on the frontiers of the Islamic land. If she dies during this period, she dies the death of a Shahid (martyr).

Two raka'at salaat performed by a pregnant woman is better than 80 raka'at salaat performed by a non-pregnant woman.

A woman who is pregnant gets the reward of fasting during the day and of doing ibaadah (worship) during the nights.

A woman who gives birth gets the reward of 70 years of salaat (prayer) and fasting. For each vein that feels pain, ALLAH gives her the reward of one accepted hajj (Pilgrimage to Makkah).
If the woman dies within 40 days of giving birth, she will die as a Shahid (matyr).

(Hadith).......'A woman that dies in her virginity, during her pregnancy, at the time of birth or thereafter (in nifaas) will attain the rank of a martyr'.

The Prophet (salalaallahu alayhi wassallam) is reported to have also said '........When her labor pains commence, the inhabitants of the earth and the sky are unaware of the stores of comfort that are prepared for her.

When she delivers and breast feeds her child, then she will be granted a reword for every gulp of milk, if she had to remain awake during the night for the sake of the child, she will receive the reword of emancipating seventy slaves in the path of ALLAH Ta'ala
Do you know who these women are?

They are pious, upright, with a delicate nature yet obedient to their husbands and not ungrateful to them.

โ€˜Ubaadah ibn al-Saamit (R.A) Narrated that the Messenger of Allah (๏ทบ) said, ,

*โ€œWho is counted as a shaheed among you?โ€* They said, โ€œThe one who fights & is killed for the sake of Allah.โ€

The Messenger (๏ทบ) said: โ€œThen the shaheeds among my ummah would be few.
_The one who is killed for the sake of Allaah is a shaheed;
_the one who dies of plague is a shaheed;
_the one who dies of a stomach disease is a shaheed;
_the woman who dies with a child in her womb is a shaheed.โ€

This was narrated by Imaam Ahmad and Ibn Maajah.

MAY ALLAH (S. W. A) MAKE IT EASY FOR ALL PREGNANT WOMEN...Ameen Ya Rabb

The first sunnah of pregnancy in Islam as strongly advised by the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam is to KEEP IT Secret.
Do not go about telling people you're pregnant, let it grow for people to see by Allah's grace.
This is largely due to the EVIL EYE AND HASAD. This 2 are very real and more present than you can ever imagine. If you just share the news then let it be to someone who is absolutely necessary for the person to be told at that early stage. SubhanAllah these days we are so eager to tell everyone who cares to listen that we are pregnant.You may carry your baby to full term and deliver him safely but you find out alot is wrong with his life and upbringing. But sometimes this has happened way before he was born because you shared the news with EVIL persons without you knowing.

The second sunnah is to be THANKFUL. As a couple, no matter the circumstances under which Allah bless you with pregnancy, accept it and thank Him. I've seen and heard people who say because they're not ready they'll go ahead and abort etc. The only condition under which abortion is allowed Islamically is when the life of the mother is in danger. And it has been unanimously agreed by experts that her life is at risk. Otherwise, any other reason is selfish and ungrateful.

The third is to follow the footsteps of Maryam Alaihis Salam. Anytime you find out that you're pregnant, it is advisable for you make an intention and take a covenant between you and Allah to dedicate your to be child to his service with his help. Surah Al Imran V35. With this intention InshaAllah, Allah will help you to guide and grow the child in his service. And will create an innate bond between the child and his Lord.

The fourth sunnah which is by far the one that got me excited the most is when the RUH (Soul) enters your baby.

Doctors start looking for a heartbeat from 6 weeks I think. If one is not seen you'll be said to be having a BLIGHTED O**M medically.

Now this is the most amazing part for me. The heart and the ruh are two different things. As much as you can see the baby per say on the screen of a scanning machine he does not have a ruh yet. All he has is an organ called the heart but he doesn't have a soul yet.
Allahu AKBAR!!!

Allah in his Infinite mercy and kindness decided to let us know when the RUH or SOUL will be breath into our babies so we can do the needful. The RUH SOUL is breathed into the baby at about 120 days i.e when you're 4 months pregnant. At about exactly this time the angels is asked to write 4 things regarding the baby.

1. Deeds
2. Livelihood
3. Death
4. Whether he'll be blessed or wretched in religion.

When you're about approaching this term, make constant dua seeking for goodness and favour of all of the above on your baby. Tirelessly and consistently without seizing. You can as well inform your spouse to also help with such dua for your baby. In Sha Allah Allah will listen and answer your duas.

Remember the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam told us prayers can change destiny, at this point the destiny of your child has not yet been written. With yakeen and sincere believe you can play a very big role in what is to come by the will and grace of Allah.

The fifth and another marvellous blessing of Allah on us happens around the 20th week of your pregnancy. At about this time your baby can hear and recognise voices. This is a time to develop one on one exclusive bond with your baby by reciting the Qur'an aloud. The sound waves of your voice will reach your baby. This will help him to develop a bond with the Qur'an and the Deen even before he come to the world. At this stage, it is not time for Zeeworld and gossip. It may seem like nothing to you but it has a lot to do with the future life of your unborn child.

You and your husband can take turns to be reciting the Qur'an aloud to your baby form this term till his or her birth. This is one of the GREATEST GIFTS you can ever give to your child.

Lastly, try to read up on the Islamic way of raising children.

May the Almighty grant us all pious children.

Ameen Ya Rab.

Shared As you read.
