𝐀𝐃𝐎𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐂𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐉𝐎𝐁 𝐀𝐈𝐃 𝟐.𝟎 𝐒𝐊𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐒 𝐄𝐍𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆

City Health Office of Iligan conducted a three-day training on the skills enhancement training for Adolescent Job Aid 2.0. This new training program aims to enhance the abilities of educators, and health professionals who work with adolescents. By bringing new topics and methods that take into account the changing needs of youth, this version (2.0) expands upon the original Adolescent Job Aid. Particularly in areas that sexual and reproductive health, mental health are observed and gender-based violence, it emphasizes developing practical skills like respectful communication, confidentiality, empathy, and decision-making support.

In the training, Attorney John Michael Badelles of the Iligan City Legal Office covered a number of topics, including the legal Basis for the provision of Adolescent Health care.

As of now, there are 20 Barangay Health Centers with Adolescent Friendly and it is expected that all barangay centers in Iligan city will become Adolescent Friendly facility to help minimize the concern of the youth.

This training's main objective is to make sure that service providers are capable of providing excellent, adolescent-friendly care and guidance. Its goal is to assist professionals in establishing secure, supportive environments where teenagers feel understood and heard. Through better provider-adolescent interactions, the training helps youth make healthier decisions, get the information and resources they need, and have the self-assurance to look after their own health.

This training was facilitated by the Adolescent Health and Development Program(AHDP) of the City Health Office, Christine Co-Naguit, Nurse Coordinator and Dr. Jubelle Sipalay Medical Coordinator.

The City Health Office, in partnership with the Department of Health (DOH), proudly celebrated Family Planning Month with the theme “𝗧𝗔𝗥𝗔,𝗨𝘀𝗮𝗽 𝗧𝗮𝘆𝗼 𝘀𝗮 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 – 𝗧𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗮𝗻, 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗱𝗼.”

The program commenced with a warm welcome address from our Acting City Health Officer,𝗗𝗿. 𝗚𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗻 𝗟. 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗽𝗮𝗮𝗰 who emphasized the importance of family planning in building healthier and more empowered families. This was followed by an enlightening lecture and review from our distinguished OB-GYN guest speaker,𝗗𝗿. 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮 𝗚. 𝗛𝘂𝗴𝗼 who discussed family planning commodities, their advantages, and clarified common myths and misconceptions.

The celebration was actively participated in by district nurses, midwives and invited family planning acceptors, Prior to the provision of services, counseling sessions were conducted to ensure informed choices. Afterwards, on-the-spot family planning services were rendered.

This meaningful event highlights our shared commitment—together with DOH and our dedicated health providers—to promote informed choices and accessible reproductive health services. Truly, “𝑷𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒐 𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝒑𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒚𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒅𝒐.”

Sa pagbisita sa Juander Radyo Iligan gibutyag ni Te-En nga limitado lamang ang ilang mga bakuna ug anaa lamang sa 200 kapin ka mga pasyente nga ma serbisyuhan matag-adlaw kung asa aduna pay panahon nga mokabat og 700 ka mga bakuna ang magamit sa usa lamang ka adlaw.
Nunot niini bisan paman nga adunay allocation nga gigahin sa Department of Health ug dugang pundo gikan sa Local nga panggamhanan apan dili gihapon kini igo tungod sa kadaghan nga napaakan.

Tarpaulins and streamers highlighting the 51st Nutrition Month theme, “Sa PPAN: Sama-Sama sa Nutrisyong Sapat para sa Lahat”, and its sub-theme, “Food at Nutrition Security Maging Priority! Sapat na Pagkain, Karapatan Natin!” 🥦🍚 were prominently displayed at various Barangay Health Centers, Barangay Halls, the City Nutrition Office, and collaborating agencies. Barangay Sta. Filomena, Barangay Saray, and partner agency NFA also took part in the launching activities. The National Food Authority (NFA) – Lanao del Norte Branch Office simultaneously conducted their own kickoff activity for Nutrition Month 2025.

City Health Office Celebrating the Dengue Awareness month participated by kagawad on Health, SK members, Midwives and Nurses.

June is designated as Dengue Awareness Month (especially in the Philippines and parts of Southeast Asia) primarily because the rainy season begins in June, which leads to an increase in mosquito breeding sites and a higher risk of dengue transmission.

“Mag‑Taob. Taktak. Tuyo. Takip.” – Ligtas na Paaralan, Ligtas na Pamayanan.

1. Tandaan ang 4S strategy:
Taob (Search & destroy): Alisin at linisin ang mga lalagyan ng tubig para hindi pamugaran ng lamok.
Taktak (Tap): Patuyuing mabuti ang mga kagamitan pagkatapos gamitin.
Tuyo (Dry): Hayaang matuyo nang ganap ang mga lalagyan—kahit maliit na patak ng tubig, puwedeng maging lumikha ng lamok.
Takip (Cover): Lagyan ng mahigpit na takip ang mga imbakan ng tubig para hindi mapasukan ng lamok.

2. Proteksyon sa sarili:
Magsuot ng panghabang-sleeves, mag-apply ng mosquito repellent, at siguraduhing may screen sa bintana/porta—lalo na pag pasok ng gabi.

3. May sintomas? Kumonsulta agad!:
Kung may lagnat nang higit sa 2–3 araw, matinding pananakit ng katawan, rashes, o iba pang sintomas—mag-patingin kaagad.

4. Fogging = sidekick, hindi hero:
Gabayan lang ang fogging o misting sa hotspot areas—hindi ito permanenteng solusyon. Ang tunay na lakas ay nasa preventive action.
