𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗮𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗺𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗽.

Nursing Service Division in collaboration with Association of Nursing Service Administrators of the Philippines Inc. (ANSAP) successfully held a 3-Day Infusion Therapy Training Program for nurses on March 11-13,2026. This upgraded training of Basic IV Therapy highlights the assessment, care and management of Vascular Access Devices.

With nurse supervision as preceptors, training participants were infused with knowledge, skills and attitude in providing infusion therapy to patients with different needs. Proficiency of each participant was put into test through various skills competency stations guided by well equipped and competent mentors.

The City Health Office under the Office of the City Mayor conducted a visit to Asia Pacific Medical Center–Iloilo (APMCI) on March 6, 2026, to observe and assess health and safety practices within the hospital.

During the visit, several commendable practices were recognized, particularly within the Nutrition and Dietetics Department, for its strict monitoring systems and exemplary food safety practices in patient meal preparation and service. These efforts demonstrate the department’s strong commitment to safe, high-quality, and patient-centered nutrition care, making it one of the leading dietary service units in the city.

Health Inspectors also commended other hospital areas for their efficient waste management systems and proper monitoring of infectious materials, reflecting APMCI’s dedication to maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant healthcare environment for patients, staff, and the community.

This recognition highlights APMCI’s continuous commitment to excellence, quality healthcare delivery, and adherence to the highest standards of safety and service.

The Professional Development Program of the Nursing Service Division held a lecture on Colorectal Cancer In observance of Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month entitled "Ease Your Mind, Screen Your Behind" on March 6,2026. This PDP is sponsored and facilitated by the NICU Department under the leadership of Josephine Fuentes, Nurse Supervisor and Grace Armentia, Head Nurse.

Invited guest lecturer Dr. Ike Minerva, FPCP,FPSG,FPSDE discussed the disease process, screening and management of the Colorectal Cancer which is the fourth leading cause of cancer deaths in the Philippines. On the other hand, Mr. Mark Louie G. Cabañal talked about nursing care and responsibilities based on his expertise as Oncology Nurse Supervisor.

Attended in the lecture were Nursing Division Personnel ,students from affiliating stools and other hospital employees.

Mr. Lam underscored the importance of integrating the IDDSI Framework into patient dietary management to standardize texture-modified diets and thickened liquids. As the first and pioneering hospital in Iloilo to adopt and implement IDDSI standards, APMCI ensures enhanced patient safety, reduced risk of aspiration, consistent interdisciplinary communication, and alignment with global best practices.

Through IDDSI integration, the NDD strengthens quality assurance, clinical excellence, and its commitment to safe, patient-centered nutrition care.
