CPU Upholds Excellence, Ranks 8th in 2025 Pharmacist Licensure Exam

Central Philippine University (CPU) once again showcased its commitment to excellence by ranking 8th among the top-performing schools in the November 2025 Pharmacist Licensure Examination (PHLE), held on November 15–16.

Out of 108 CPU examinees, 89 successfully passed, achieving an 82.41% passing rate—above the national passing rate of 80.57%, with 3,670 of 4,555 examinees passing nationwide. The results were officially released by the Professional Regulation Commission on November 21.

For CPU’s College of Pharmacy, this recognition is more than a number. Marking the second consecutive year as a top-performing school, it highlights the students’ dedication, the faculty’s mentorship, and the university’s commitment to excellence—shaping competent and skilled pharmacists. 💊💜🙌🏻

The merciless cold keeps the cobblestone-lined streets silent, void of life. Yet, near the end of the unambitious path stood an avowedly incongruous postern. Slowly approaching it were wanderers clad in white, carrying a worn-out torch that seemed to have been relit countless times—𝙞𝙩𝙨 𝙛𝙡𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙝𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧.

For what purpose have they trekked this ambiguous road?
For where did they see themselves beyond that tall door?
For who are those that dared to defy fate?

𝓐𝓮𝓸𝓰𝓷𝓲𝓪, 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝓌𝒾𝓃𝒹𝓈 𝓈𝑜𝓁𝑒𝓂𝓃𝓁𝓎 𝓌𝒽𝒾𝓈𝓅𝑒𝓇.

The names they wished to engrave in stone were instead etched upon hard, gelid steel. Some hands grew too numb to carry on, but there were those stubborn enough to remain, trailblazing the odyssey they had once sworn to see through to the end.

𝓐𝓮𝓸𝓰𝓷𝓲𝓪 𝓌𝒾𝓁𝓁 𝓃𝑜𝓉 𝒻𝓁𝒾𝓃𝒸𝒽.

What began as a dream has matured into a calling. Beyond the labyrinth lies a future that demands both precision and heart, and this 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟓 & 𝟏𝟔, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓, they are ready to answer both—𝟏𝟎𝟎%.

The world shall bear witness as they speak their 𝓐𝓮𝓸𝓰𝓷𝓲𝓪𝓷 𝓵𝓮𝓰𝓪𝓬𝔂.

Every Centralian knows the rush of printing something right before our exam season and sometimes, the struggle that comes with it.

Grounded in our values of empowerment, accessibility, and service, we’re reminded that even the smallest gestures can spark meaningful change.

Come by, print your files, and let’s keep moving forward — together, one page and one act of kindness at a time.

The halls of USWAG San Isidro Elementary School transformed into a hub of health and service on October 4, 2025, as the Central Philippine University (CPU) College of Pharmacy Student Council (COPSC) and the Junior Philippine Pharmacists Association (JPPhA) – CPU Chapter spearheaded a medical mission titled “Wellness Guided by Knowledge.” 💪🏻

The initiative, held in collaboration with the CPU College of Medicine (COM), sought to bridge healthcare and education by offering both medical services and meaningful insights on the role of pharmacists in patient-centered care.

The program opened with an invocation, the singing of the national anthem, and a warm welcome from Brgy. San Isidro’s barangay captain, Ronela Juaneza. Following this, Pearle Joy T. Caro, RPh, Outreach Coordinator of the CPU College of Pharmacy, delivered the CESL message, underscoring CPU’s commitment to community service through health missions.

A highlight of the event was the keynote lecture delivered by Jacqueline S. Blancaflor, RPh, who spoke on “Think Health, Think Pharmacist: Wellness Guided by Knowledge” — a talk inspired by the theme of the 2025 World Pharmacists Day. Her address emphasized the pharmacist’s pivotal role in medication safety and public health awareness.

After the awarding of certificates and orientation, the day’s main objective unfolded. Residents of Brgy. San Isidro availed of free services including CBG testing, medical check-ups, and dispensing of medicines. Professionals and student-volunteers alike worked hand in hand to ensure that every participant not only received care but also understood the importance of responsible medication use and preventive health practices.

The event reflected CPU’s mission of uniting knowledge with service by addressing both immediate health concerns and long-term awareness. Residents left not only with medicines and check-ups but also with practical understanding that can guide their daily choices toward wellness. In this way, the mission bridged the gap between academic expertise and the everyday needs of the community.

Gratitude was extended to the CPU COM, Lenus Drug Corporation, EVT Pharmacy, Brgy. San Isidro, and the faculty and staff of USWAG San Isidro Elementary School for their invaluable support, which made the event possible and impactful.

Through Wellness Guided by Knowledge, CPU’s student leaders, faculty, and partners demonstrated that the University’s core values thrive when translated into service. Anchored in faith, the medical mission showed that education achieves its highest purpose when it uplifts lives and fosters resilience. 💊💜

In celebration of World Pharmacists Day 2025, the Philippine Pharmacists Association Iloilo-Guimaras Chapter, in collaboration with the Young Pharmacists Group Iloilo-Guimaras Chapter, JPPhA–CPU Chapter, JPPhA–PHINMA UI Chapter, and JPPhA–Epsilon Chapter–Apothecarian Council, held its fourth annual “𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐙𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐚 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐂𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞” on September 27, 2025, at the Iloilo Freedom Grandstand. 💃🏻🕺🏻🪩

With the theme “𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡, 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐏𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐭,” this year’s event was hosted by JPPhA–Epsilon Chapter–Apothecarian Council of the University of San Agustin and made possible through the generous support of various sponsors, notably, Pocari Sweat.

The festivities kicked off with a high-energy Zumba session led by Master G Bucana, followed by a vibrant parade that kept the excitement alive throughout the evening. To cap off the celebration, the crowd enjoyed an electrifying afterparty featuring DJ Franco Lao.

The event not only united the pharmacy community in promoting health and wellness but also celebrated the vital role of pharmacists in society, creating shared memories among pharmacists and future pharmacists alike. 💜💊
