A culturally attuned hypnotic procedure using ginger ("Ginluy-ahan), applied topically while experiencing hypnosis,

has allowed one patient to lower her blood sugar (from 14mmol/L to 6mmol/L) level by allowing herself to shift to a more motivated and empowered state ("Nagtaas ang Dungan").

Insulin and her diabetic medications have become more effective and enjoyable. Cardiac and Antihypertensive medications were now appreciated.

Last October 8 and 9, I was invited to provide supportive supervision in the DOH mhGAP program to improve mental health services in the Province of Antique. With the DOH Team, we visited different Municipalities and had evocative discussions with the case presenters. With faith, our efforts would allow more motivated and confident MHGap-trained healthcare providers.
