What Is Ear Barotrauma and How Can I Prevent It When Flying?

Ear barotrauma happens when pressure changes—like during takeoff or landing—damage the eardrum or middle ear.

Prevention Tips:
✅ Yawn, swallow, or chew gum during ascent/descent
✅ If with nasal congestion, you may use prescribed intranasal or oral decongestants.
✅ Try earplugs designed for flying
