A consultant once told me during my first year of residency, “You will never be an Internist.”

But destiny is not determined by man—it is defined by the One who calls. And God called me to be an Internist.

Today, I was reminded of that calling.

An 88-year-old patient, who battled acute respiratory failure secondary to Pneumonia - High Risk, was intubated for a week… and yet, she went home—alive, recovering, and a living miracle. She even handed me this flower as a simple but profound “thank you.”

Moments like this humble me deeply.

Because at the end of the day, Physicians like me are called to treat—but healing has always been, and will always be, in God’s hands.

I am license to treat but healing comes from God.

All glory to You, Lord, for Your miraculous healing to my patient Clarita 🫶

Patient: “Dra, ginawa ko ’to para sa’yo.”

I met Ma’am S.P. when she was admitted to the hospital—heartbroken, anxious, and losing hope after being newly diagnosed with lupus.

In that moment, I shared a part of my own story with her. I told her how I once faced heartbreak too, and how I was diagnosed with papillary carcinoma. But in the middle of that difficult season, I found hope and wholeness in my Lord Jesus.

So we prayed together.

From that moment on, she began fighting for her health—not just with medicine, but with hope, knowing that Jesus is her ultimate healer and reward.

Sometimes, the best medicine isn’t found in a prescription.
Sometimes, the best medicine is prayer.

Prayer is powerful.
