MSU Buug Nursing Student Bags Best Paper Award in International and National Conferences

Buug, Zamboanga Sibugay — October 2025. The College of Nursing at Mindanao State University Buug proudly celebrates the achievement of Mr. David Kyle Pallon, a fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN IV) student, who was awarded Best Paper at the 4th International Conference on Multidisciplinary Filipino Studies 2025 and the 8th HAASAAN Pambansang Komprehensiya sa Filipino.

Mr. Pallon conducted this study in collaboration with his research co-authors, namely: Crezyl Ann Castanas; Easle Jude Capa; Hazel Jean Oprecina; Jahannah Manliquez; Randy Ian Gallego, MAN, RN, USRN; Tashmera Laranjo, MAN, RN; and Maricel Tercio, RN, LPT. Their contributions reflect the College’s continuing commitment to advancing community-based and socially relevant research.

The College of Nursing also extends its appreciation to Dr. Chancellor Sheila G. Magolama, Dr. VC Rovy M. Banguis, and Dr. VC Ivy F. Amante, Sir Dexter D. Casano and Ma’am Jonevy Tabat-Rodrigo, for their invaluable support and guidance throughout the research journey.

This recognition highlights the dedication, scholarship, and excellence of MSU Buug students and faculty in advancing knowledge and contributing to national and international academic discourse. It also reaffirms the University’s commitment to supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG6: Clean Water and Sanitation, through transformative and socially responsive research.

🎓✨ Passing the Torch of Leadership
A proud and meaningful day for the MSU Buug Nursing Department as we witnessed the Turnover Ceremony of outgoing and incoming Student Council Officers, along with the Oath Taking of our newly elected leaders at Mindanao State University–Buug School of Nursing Ipil Extension.

We were honored by the presence of Jehada A. Elias, SCL, MPD, Director of Student Affairs and Services, whose message underscored the power of student leadership rooted in integrity, service, and excellence.
