TYPHOON “CARINA” MAINTAINS ITS STRENGTH WHILE OVER THE SEA EAST OF TAIWAN

As of 11:00 PM, The center of the eye was estimated based on all available data 335 km Northeast of Basco, Batanes moving North Northeastward at 25 km/h with maximum sustained winds of 150 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 185 km/h.

The Southwest Monsoon enhanced by CARINA will bring moderate to intense rainfall over various localities in the western portion of Luzon today through Friday.

In the next 24 hours, CARINA and the enhanced Southwest Monsoon will bring rough seas over the northern and eastern seaboards of Northern Luzon outside Gale Warning areas

𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐊 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐍𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐎𝐔𝐓𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊

CARINA is forecast to steadily intensify and may reach its peak intensity prior to its landfall over Taiwan due to favorable environment. Its landfall over northern Taiwan will trigger a weakening trend for the rest of the forecast period.
Considering these developments, the public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to take all necessary measures to protect life and property. Persons living in areas identified to be highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards are advised to follow evacuation and other instructions from local officials.

The Itogon MHSO have monitored an increasing cases of Dengue in our municipality. To prevent and control the increasing cases we will be conducting a SIMULTANEOUS LARVAL SURVEILLANCE ITOGON WIDE on July 19, 2024 FRIDAY.

Alongside with the activity is the implementation of Aksyon Barangay Kontra Dengue (ABKD) and Oplan Taob.

Thus, we would like to invite ALL Itogon Constituents to join us in this activity for the Search and Destroy of breeding places of mosquito.

Tropical Storm "Aghon"

“AGHON” INTENSIFIES INTO A TROPICAL STORM OVER TAYABAS BAY.

The center of the eye was estimated over the coastal waters of Lucena City, Quezon and it is moving Northwestward at 10 km/h with a maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 90 km/h.

AGHON is forecast to make landfall in the vicinity of Quezon within the next 3 hours. Over the next 12 hours, the tropical storm will cross the landmass of mainland CALABARZON and Polillo Islands. AGHON will be over the waters off the east coast of Quezon or Aurora by this evening or tomorrow early morning. During this period, AGHON will likely remain as a tropical storm although weakening into a tropical depression while over mainland CALABARZON is not ruled out due to land interaction.

From Monday through the remainder of the forecast period, AGHON will gradually accelerate northeastward while intensifying. It is forecast to reach severe tropical storm category on Tuesday. AGHON reaching typhoon category within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) is not yet ruled out, although it will most likely happen far from the landmass. On the track forecast, AGHON may exit the PAR region on Wednesday.

THE LOW PRESSURE AREA EAST OF SURIGAO DEL SUR HAS DEVELOPED INTO TROPICAL DEPRESSION “AGHON”

The center of the eye was estimated based on all available data 340 km East of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur moving West Northwestward at 30 km/h with maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 55 km/h.

No Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal.

TRACK AND INTENSITY OUTLOOK
AGHON is forecast to move generally northwestward or north northwestward from today until tomorrow while slowly intensifying. On the track forecast, AGHON is forecast to make a close approach or make landfall in the vicinity of Eastern Samar tomorrow morning as a tropical depression. Afterwards, AGHON will pass north northwestward over Eastern Visayas, then emerge over the waters off the east coast of Bicol Region tomorrow afternoon or evening as a tropical storm. On Sunday, AGHON will begin recurving generally northeastward or north northeastward over the waters east of Luzon while starting to continuously intensify. Current forecast scenario shows intensification into a severe tropical storm by mid Sunday and into a typhoon by Tuesday.
