Bad parenting post!!!!!
This is to remind all parents out there to not expose their children to too much gadget. TRUST ME. DON'T!
So, the story is like this. Gipalitan namo among baby ug iPad when she was still 10 months old bisan dli jd uyon among parents. The main reason was, almost every month man mi mo travel so para naa syay lingaw sa airport.
It was just for that purpose until she learned to operate it and got hooked on Badanamu, CoComelon, ChuChu TV,. So, mag iPad na pd sya dri sa balay.
At first, every morning lang then naabot sa time na apil na igka hapon hangtud apil na gabii hangtud di na mokaon basta walay iPad. Na out of control iyang screen time wala pa juy supervision (ayaw lang sab tawn mi i-judge kay first-time millennial parents lagi). We also thought na okay lang kay daghan pd syag nakat-onan from Youtube Kids. Later na namo na realize nga naa juy bad impact sa iyaha. (Well, this is for our baby lang ha? I am not an expert to tell that this will apply to others (KAY LAHI-LAHI NANG MGA BATA) but you may want to use this as a reference since this was quoted from a Pediatrician.)
So, during this quarantine, we met other babies at her age (1 year and 8 months) nya kabalo na mo storya and siya kay dli pa (makagool) so we consulted with her pedia and we were told that the gadget affected her speech and language (mahibaw-an nimo dili sya developmental delay since birth kay she can identify colors, animals, letters pd, pero she can't say it lang jd). So, tanan okay sa iya except sa pag-storya. Kailangan namo agapan or else she might experience more physical and mental damage.
As per her pedia's diagnosis;
"Hinay-hinayi na ninyog kuha iyang iPad kay maulahi jd ang development sa iyang speech and language ug madaot pa iyang mata. As per my assessment, dali kaayo ma trigger iyang tantrums (dali ra kaayo siya sapoton ug masuko, mo ligid dayon sa salog gamayng bikil) kay ming decrease iyang ability to self-regulate (handle stress or frustration) which is another side effect. Mo lahi ang batasan sa bata basta sigeg gadget kaysa anang magduwa sa gawas".
Screen time can be introduced (kung gusto nyo talaga) at 2 years na with a strict limitation to only 1-2 hr per day. WALA SA JD DAPAT NAY SCREEN TIME ANG BELOW 2 YEARS OLD. Hopefully, you will learn from our mistake. Dapat ingon ana nga edad more on activities jd nga makadungog ug storya (in our language) ug action. Dili ibaby-talk aron straight maka-storya.
Karon, the recommendation is to divert her attention from the iPad gamit mga educational toys until she can cope up. More playtime with her ug ipaduwa syas laing bata. Optional lang ni iyang speech therapy kay tawn super kamahal (UPDATED: FEE IS 1K PER SESSION, 3 x A WEEK). Promise, malooy kaayo mi mag tan-aw niya nga makigduwa syas iyang mga ka-edad unya sya ray di kabalo mo storya.
So, if wala pa ninyo gi introduce ang gadget sa inyong baby. KEEP IT THAT WAY!
Katong sig palantaw sa ilang baby (2 years and below) ug Youtube, STOP IT THIS EARLY!
DO NOT USE GADGET AS A SUBSTITUTE PARENTS!
Piece of advice.
