Last September 23–24, Asia Pacific Medical Center – Aklan proudly held a two-day lecture with the theme:

“General Practices in Neonatal, Pediatric, and General Medical Application to Deliver Safe and Effective Nursing Quality Care.”

We were privileged to have our very own Neonatologist, Dr. Hazel Ann David, as our esteemed resource speaker. She generously shared her expertise and insights, enriching our healthcare team’s knowledge and strengthening our commitment to quality patient care.

The sessions took place at the Lecture Hall, 7th Floor of APMC–Aklan, and were made meaningful by the active participation of our attendees.

Our deepest gratitude to Dr. David and to everyone who contributed to the success of this continuing learning activity. Together, we move forward in advancing excellence in healthcare.

Today we join the world in celebrating World Patient Safety Day 2025 with the theme “Safe Care for Every Newborn and Every Child.”

This worldwide observance commenced with the customary lighting ceremony, serving as a powerful reminder of our collective responsibility to safeguard every newborn, every child and every patient under our care. The celebration concluded with the Patient Safety Pledge, reaffirming our unwavering commitment to place safety at the heart of everything we do.

This year’s celebration is made more meaningful with the presentation of the thesis “The Effectiveness of Patient Safety Programs: A Systematic Review” by Chris C. Tejada, MAN, RN (Assistant Chief Nursing Officer, Patient Safety Officer). His research will be presented at the First International Healthcare Conference in November in Thailand. This milestone is a source of pride for our hospital and community, reflecting our strong commitment to advancing patient safety both locally and globally.

The celebration also highlighted a lecture on Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) delivered by Dr. Ester Alfaro (Chairperson, Patient Safety Committee), focusing on strategies and evidence-based preventive measures to safeguard infants.
