𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝗶𝗱 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴

Kibungan Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) conducted a Standard First Aid Training at Sagpat, Kibungan, Benguet on October 27 and 29,2025.

Participants were Barangay Health Workers (BHW's), BNS, BPAT, Barangay Officials, Day Care Workers and Society Organization (CSO).

This activity aims to strengthen community preparedness and ensure that they are equipped with life-saving skills during emerencies.

𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹, 𝗘𝘆𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸-𝘂𝗽 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 was conducted in Barangay Sagpat, Kibungan, Benguet on October 28, 2025.

More than 300 individuals availed of the free health services.

The outreach was funded by Beneco Incorporation in partnership with the International Association of Lions Club.

Kibungan Municipal Health Office received a Plaque of Recognition for being a 2024 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗲 in the Province of Benguet during the Regional Awarding Ceremony held at Crown Legacy Hotel, Baguio City on October 23, 2025. ✨

Other awards;
✅️Certificate of Commendation for achieving a continuous decrease in the prevalence of stunting among children aged 0–59 months
✅️ Cert. of Commendation for sustaining a below 10% stunting rate for the year 2024👶

❌ Ordering, instructing, or compelling a person below 25 to use, buy, sell, or promote to***co/e-cigarette products
❌ Selling to***co/e-cigarette products within 100 meters of schools, public playgrounds, and government facilities

Barangay Madaymen conducted clean-up drive and cigarette butt collection along the roads in various sitios. The activity was participated by Barangay Health Workers, the Barangay Nutrition Scholar, storeowners, teachers, and learners from different schools.

As part of the smoke-free initiative, "𝐍𝐨 𝐒𝐦𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠" 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬 were also posted in stores during the inspection of business permits. The team continues to strengthen the Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaign on the prohibited acts under the Kibungan Smoke-Free Ordinance.

𝟯𝗞 𝗳𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗶 𝗢𝗹𝘆𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗰𝘀

Representatives from Kibungan Rural Health Unit, Kapangan Rural Health Unit and Kapangan District Hospital teamed up to represent the 3K Inter-local Health Zone in the Nutri Olympics as part of the activities in the Universal Health Care Conference held on October 15, 2025 at Benguet Sports Complex, La Trinidad. Their unity reflects this year’s theme “All feathers, One Fly, Integrating Systems for a Healthier Benguet”.

The competition comprised of four categories; plate presentation challenge based on pingang pinoy dietary guidelines, Quiz bee focused on nutrition laws and policies, role play on breastfeeding and complementary feeding practices addressing common challenges and misconception, and interactive games related to nutrition.

When asked how it was for them to form a single team despite from the different health facilities, Ms. Rosana Monte, a BNS shared, “it was challenging at first since we didn’t have the opportunity to meet in person and plan our strategies ahead of time. But we made it work by assigning task and trusting each other to deliver. Just like what we always do as an Interlocal Health Zone- we support one another and work together toward a common goal.”

In a significant progress towards strengthening the implementation of the Universal Health Care (UHC) in the province, Kibungan participated in the Ceremonial Signing of Commitment on the Health Care Provider Network (HCPN) held during the second Universal Health Care Conference on October 14, 2025, at Benguet Sports Complex Gymnasium, Wangal, La Trinidad, Benguet.

The Commitment on Health Care provider Network was officially signed by Governor Melchor D. Diclas and Dr. Amelita M. Pangilinan, together with the municipal mayors, provincial board members, and representative from stakeholders. This collective pledge signals a unified commitment to advancing health systems integration and ensuring accessible, affordable and quality health care for all i-Benguet.

As part of strengthening health systems, best practices were also shared by different municipalities showcasing their innovative and effective health programs strategies. These presentations served as platforms for knowledge-sharing and inspiration, setting benchmarks for other LGUs in the province.
