In solidarity with World AIDS Day 2025, and in honor of this year’s global theme, “Overcoming Disruption, Transforming the AIDS Response,” BENGUET GENERAL HOSPITAL’s KANDILI HACT successfully conducted a two-day educational initiative entitled “STI & HIV Knowledge, Prevention, and Compassion: An Education Day for Hospital Staff ” held on December 9 & 10, 2025.

Across four batches of staff, each participating in a 4-hour learning session, we deepened our collective understanding of key topics essential to patient safety and quality care: RA 11166 (Philippine HIV and AIDS Policy Act), Data Privacy in HIV Services, Occupational Exposure & Proper Protocols, STI 101 & HIV 101. This activity is more than just a training—it is a reminder of our shared accountability to provide non-judgmental, compassionate, and stigma-free healthcare to everyone we serve. It reflects our commitment to strengthening the HIV response within the healthcare setting, honoring those who continue to fight the disease, and remembering those we have lost along the way.

At the heart of this effort is K.A.N.D.I.L.I., the guiding spirit of our HIV Treatment Hub: K-aalaman A-laga, at N-agbibigay– Daan sa I-law ng PAGASA L-unas, at I-KAW To the dedicated members of the KANDILI HACT in partnership with the Health Education Program Officer and to every staff member who showed up with openness and willingness to learn—thank you. Together, we move forward with renewed compassion, stronger awareness, and an unwavering dedication to transforming our HIV response. WORLD AIDS DAY 2025: We remember. We learn. We commit. We care.
