Instead, it’s 𝑫𝒖𝒄𝒌, 𝑪𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑯𝒐𝒍𝒅! — the right way to protect yourself during an earthquake.

November 6, 2025, the Lal-lo National High School community took part in the 4th Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill, led by the proactive School Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (SDRRM) officers.

This drill strengthens our preparedness and reminds everyone to stay alert and disciplined in times of emergencies.

‎On November 5, we the School Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (SDRRM), conducted a symposium at the Learning Resource Center (LRC) especially for student leaders and class representatives who were invited.
‎
‎The symposium was designed to increase knowledge regarding earthquake preparedness and to help students face fears and anxieties during disasters, as well as help them to enhance safety, preparedness, and mental resilience.
‎
‎The session began with a fun icebreaker game facilitated by the SDRRM President, Ms. Jzeana Leann Dacquel, along with the introduction of the Kalasag officers. Our guest speaker, Ma’am Janet Lorenzo delivered some important information about remaining calm and prepared for a potential earthquake.
‎
‎Prior to closing our program, Mr. Austere Lorayna (SDRRM Auditor) and Mr. Marvin Dela Cruz (SDRRM P.I.O) modeled the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” process to contribute the aspect of proper responses that you may use during an emergency while remembering to keep presence of mind.

Be ready when it matters most. Prepare your Go Bag and keep within reach.

Here's what to include in your Go Bag:
⭕ Bottled water and perishable goods (3-day supply)
⭕ Clothes and underwears
⭕ Hygiene( Toilet paper, Sanitary pads, Alcohol, etc..) and Emergency kit (medications)
⭕ Flashlight, Batteries, Power Bank, & Mobile Phone
⭕ Cash and coins
⭕ Important Documents sealed in a plastic (Birth Certificate, Valid ID's, License, Contact List, etc...)

Each family member should have their own Go Bag with supplies that can last up to three days.

Kalasag Officers temporarily served as student nurses, assisting in maintaining health and safety services while the school nurse was on leave during the celebration of National Teachers day October 1-3, 2025.

the DRRM Officers accomplished making a video presentation — focusing on mental health awareness. Due to the stressful weeks that students have experienced, this serves as a reminder for students to take a break and pay attention to their mental health.

‎Kalasag Officers are involved in getting ready for the 80th Alumni Homecoming at Lal-lo National High School Gymnasium. The team gave all of their attention to work together setting-up decorations, and created protocols that followed safety procedures that served to guarantee the event's success.

‎𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟓 - 𝘚𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯.
‎During the Alumni Homecoming, Kalasag Officers supported the event through serving as security, guest assistance, and maintaining the cleanliness of the venue. Their work display the spirit of service and volunteerism and was indicative of what Kalasag means.

𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟒–𝟐𝟔 – 𝘌𝘯𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴
Making sure no one is left behind in any disaster is a different level of serving that some people may not understand. With the help of different student leaders, disaster preparedness videos make everyone alert, help to save and serve.

𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟏𝟔-𝟏𝟖, 𝟐𝟒 – 𝘋𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘢𝘷𝘦
One of KALASAG duties was trained slowly but surely, as professionals were patient to teach Junior Responders proper training and application by making them perform a simulation exercise as to how they rescue different types of emergencies.

Note: Paticipations were inclusive across different activities run by the agencies.

With our dedication to help in any disaster, the school approved us to hold a symposium to prepare students of LNHS for the 2nd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill.

Held the 2nd quarter NSED in collaboration with BFP Lal-lo, MDRRMO Lal-lo, and RHU Lal-lo to perform first aids in different cases of emergencies.

Pinangunahan ng mga Kalasag officers ang inspeksyon sa bawat silid-aralan ng Lal-lo National High School upang tiyaking walang nakasaksak, nakabukas na ilaw, o bentilador bago magsimula ang semestral break.

Layunin ng gawaing ito na mapanatiling ligtas ang paaralan at mapaalalahanan ang mga estudyante sa tamang paggamit ng kuryente—patayin at tanggalin sa saksakan ang mga electric fan at gripo bago umalis ng silid-aralan.

⛈️ 𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫: 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐲 𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐫𝐲! ⛈️
The typhoon had already struck, and being prepared was the best way to stay safe during the disaster. Because we took time to plan ahead, learned what to do, and acted responsibly, we were able to protect not only ourselves but also our families and community.

Even though Typhoon Nando already made landfall, let's still be cautious of the possible risk in our surroundings, as heavy rainfall, serious flooding, and strong winds are still present.
