December 27, 2025

The Local Government Unit of Lal-lo headed by Hon. Mayor Florence Oliver B. Pascual thru the Lal-lo Rural Health Unit is currently conducting a motorcade campaign on โ€œIWAS PAPUTOKโ€ to promote public safety and prevent firecracker-related injuries as the New Year approaches.

This activity is being carried out in partnership with the MDRRMO, Philippine National Police Lal-lo, Bureau of Fire Protection Lal-lo, Liga ng mga Barangay and other stakeholders working together to raise awareness on the dangers of firecrackers and to encourage safer alternatives for celebration.

The motorcade is going around the municipality to deliver a strong message of health, safety, and accident prevention to the community.

Let us all support this campaign and choose a safe, peaceful, and injury-free New Year celebration.

The LGU in collaboration with the Lal-lo Rural Health Unit, Lal-lo Philippine National Police (PNP), and Lal-lo Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), successfully conducted a public health awareness campaign through a bandillo to educate the community on the dangers of firecrackers and the importance of injury prevention.

The activity reached various barangays, emphasizing public safety, fire prevention, and the protection of children and families during the festive season. Through this joint effort, the agencies encouraged residents to choose safer alternatives and to celebrate responsibly.

This unified initiative reflects the strong commitment of all partners in promoting kalusugan at kaligtasan para sa lahat.

The Lal-lo Rural Health Unit headed by Dr. Maria Concepcion B. Abbang successfully conducted the B.O.A.T Awards (Best of All Times) last night, honoring the exemplary service and unwavering dedication of its health and non-health workers who have continuously contributed to the delivery of quality health services in the municipality.

The awarding ceremony recognized RHU personnel whose commitment, professionalism, and passion for public service have greatly supported the implementation of various health programs and initiatives in Lal-lo.

The Best Of All Time or BOAT Award is an award that carries a meaning very close to Lalloquenos having been blessed with the longest mighty Cagayan river.

The Department of Health โ€“ Cagayan Valley Center for Health Development, through the National Tuberculosis Program (NTP), conducted a TB Mass Screening and Free Voluntary HIV Screening yesterday at Barangay San Mariano.

The activity was facilitated by the RHU-NTP staff, with the support of Barangay Health Workers and community volunteers, ensuring proper crowd control and observance of minimum public health standards.

This successful activity was made possible through the strong support of the Local Government Unit of Lal-lo in partnership with DOH CVCHD.

Together, we continue to promote early detection, timely treatment, and a healthier Lal-lo community.

The Department of Healthโ€“CVCHD in partnership
with the Local Government Unit of Lal-lo thru the Lal-lo Rural Health Unit, successfully held โ€œLigtas Christmas 2025: LAL-LOng Ligtas sa Christmasโ€ at the Lal-lo Multi-Purpose Center this morning. The event gathered Barangay health and safety advocates, students, NGAs and community members in a united effort to promote a safe and healthy holiday season.

The program opened with registration led by the RHU staff, followed by an energetic opening salvo performed by the CSU Lal-lo Saliw Dance Performing Arts Group.

Municipal Health Officer Dr. Maria Concepcion B. Abbang welcomed the participants with her opening remarks, emphasizing the importance of community cooperation in preventing holiday-related illnesses and accidents.

Representing Hon. Mayor Florence Oliver B. Pascual and Hon. Vice Mayor Maria Olivia B. Pascual was Mr. Mark Kevin M. Agcaoili- Information officer highlighting the municipalityโ€™s commitment to public health, especially during the festive season.

A key highlight of the event was the overview of the โ€œGawin ang 7 Healthy Habitsโ€ campaign, presented by Gracia Mae B. Aggabao, Health Promotion Officer II of DOH-CVCHD.

Meanwhile, the plenary session featured two critical health topics discussed by Ms. Ruth Aguinaldo- Health Promotion Officer II.

Participants also took a Pledge of Commitment led by Kristine Michelle A. Tabaco, RN, reaffirming their dedication to practicing and promoting health and safety throughout the holiday season.

As part of the contest proper, Mr. Don Jeffrey V. Sales, RN introduced the Board of Judges for the highly anticipated โ€œChristmas Safety Dance Challengeโ€, participated in by various secondary schools. The competition showcased creative performances that integrated health and safety messages for the community.

The event concluded with a photo opportunity and fellowship lunch. Serving as masters of ceremony were Ms. Joy R. Junio, RN, LPT and Ms. Christine Reรฑos who ensured the smooth flow of the program.

The Provincial DOH Office (PDOHO) Cagayan represented by the DMO IV -Ms. Remedios Peleo, Ms. Ofelia A. Soriano, Ms. Angelica Obordo successfully conducted FHSIS Cascading and EMR Re-Orientation activity aimed at enhancing the data management skills and reporting efficiency of health personnel across the province. The activity brought together nurses, midwives, RHU staff, and program coordinators for a comprehensive session on improving the accuracy, timeliness, and utilization of health data.

Held as part of the provinceโ€™s continuous capacity-building initiatives, the session highlighted the significant role of the Field Health Services Information System (FHSIS) in guiding public health decision-making and monitoring performance indicators. Participants were re-oriented on updated reporting protocols, common data errors, and strategies to ensure complete and reliable submissions.

In addition, the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Re-Orientation emphasized the importance of digital systems in streamlining client records, enhancing service delivery, and ensuring continuity of care.

The PDOHO Cagayan reaffirmed its commitment to supporting all local health units through continuous trainings, monitoring, and technical assistance to ensure a data-driven, responsive, and efficient local health system

In line with the nationwide observance of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC), the Lal-lo Rural Health Unit successfully conducted the HELOW BES activity at Lal-lo National High School (LNHS), strengthening awareness among adolescents on their rights, safety, and access to health services.

Students were engaged in health talks focusing on Adolescent Reproductive Health, mental well-being, Substance abuse prevention and values formationโ€”equipping young individuals with knowledge and life skills essential for preventing violence within their communities.

Municipal Health Officer Dr. Maria Concepcion B. Abbang, emphasized the crucial role of schools in promoting a violence-free environment. โ€œBy reaching our youth, we shape informed and empowered individuals who can advocate for respect, equality, and safe relationships,โ€ the MHO stated.

Present during the activity were Hon. Jimmy Balatico -SB on Health and Mr. Mark Kevin Agcaoili-Information Officer III, Representative of Mayor Oliver Pascual and Vice Mayor Olive Pascual both reaffirmed the LGUโ€™s dedication to protecting women, children, and youth, noting that school-based interventions are essential in preventing violence before it begins.
