In a solemn and faith-filled gathering, Dr. Ricardo Y. Ladrido Memorial Hospital (DRYLMH) conducted its Monthly Holy Mass together with the Blessing of the newly designated Parking Area located in front of the hospital.

The Eucharistic Celebration and blessing rites were officiated by Rev. Fr. Rod Emerson Santuyo, who shared an inspiring homily emphasizing gratitude, unity, and the importance of dedicating our workplace and facilities to God’s guidance and protection.

Hospital employees actively participated in the celebration, led by Dr. April Darroca Legayada, Chief of Hospital II. The gathering reflected not only spiritual nourishment but also a shared commitment to service, safety, and wellness within the hospital community.

The blessing of the parking area symbolizes DRYLMH’s continuous efforts to improve hospital facilities while entrusting every endeavor to the Lord. May this newly blessed space serve as a place of safety, order, and convenience for patients, staff, and stakeholders alike.

🚑 Empowering Lifesavers: DRYLMH Conducts 2nd Batch of BLS & SFA Training 2026🏥🩺

February 24–27, 2026

Dr. Ricardo Y. Ladrido Memorial Hospital (DRYLMH) successfully conducted its 2nd Batch of Basic Life Support (BLS) and Standard First Aid (SFA) Training last February 24–27, 2026, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening emergency preparedness and lifesaving competencies among healthcare providers.

Over the four-day intensive training, participants actively engaged in lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on return demonstrations covering essential lifesaving skills:

🫀 Basic Life Support (BLS)

✔️ Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
✔️ AED Operations
✔️ Rescue Breathing
✔️ Foreign Body Airway Obstruction (FBAO) Management

🩹 Standard First Aid (SFA)

✔️ Bandaging Techniques
✔️ Splinting Techniques
✔️ Carries and Drags

The training emphasized rapid assessment, proper technique, teamwork, and confidence in responding to emergencies in both hospital and community settings.

In her inspiring Closing Remarks, Dr. April Legayada, Chief of Hospital II, underscored the vital role of BLS and SFA skills not only within hospital walls but also in families and communities, where immediate response can significantly increase survival and reduce complications.

The activity was spearheaded by the Hospital Management Office (HMO) Team of Instructors led by Ian Vincent Libanan, HMO DRRMH Manager and Lead Instructor, together with Krisha Eloisa Gumban, Assistant HMO DRRMH Manager, and the dedicated pool of instructors and trainers who ensured the success of this batch.

🚑 DRYLMH ER and Ambulance Nurses Complete Trauma and Emergency Care Training 🏥

The Emergency Room and Ambulance Nurses of DRYLMH successfully attended the Trauma and Emergency Care Training for Nurses conducted by the Emergency Hospital Training Center and Ambulance Services Inc.

The Nursing Service Department of DRYLMH successfully conducted an Orientation and Review on FDAR Charting for the New Entrants and Nurse Trainees, reinforcing the hospital’s commitment to quality nursing documentation and patient safety.

The session was facilitated by Armando P. Casa, RN, MPA, MAN, Chief Nurse, who comprehensively discussed the principles and proper application of FDAR (Focus, Data, Action, Response) charting in clinical practice. The orientation emphasized the importance of accurate, timely, and systematic documentation as a vital component of patient care, legal protection, and interprofessional communication.

Chief Nurse Casa highlighted:

🍼🤱 Strengthening Breastfeeding Advocacy at DRYLMH! 💙

The Mother Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative (MBFHI) Program Coordinator, Rona Villa S. Legayada, RN, successfully conducted a 3-Day Orientation on Breastfeeding and Lactation as part of the hospital’s Orientation on various Department of Health (DOH) programs.

The MBFHI is a global initiative of United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the World Health Organization (WHO) aimed at ensuring optimal infant and young child feeding practices. In the Philippines, it is implemented through the Department of Health under Republic Act No. 7600 (Rooming-In and Breastfeeding Act of 1992), promoting rooming-in and the protection, promotion, and support of breastfeeding.

This orientation reinforced the hospital’s commitment to:
✅ Protecting and promoting exclusive breastfeeding
✅ Supporting mothers through proper lactation management
✅ Ensuring newborns receive the best possible start in life

The employees of Don Ricardo Y. Ladrido Memorial Hospital (DRYLMH) solemnly marked the beginning of the Lenten season through the observance of Ash Wednesday, a meaningful tradition that calls us to prayer, reflection, and renewal.

The rite of the imposition of ashes was officiated by the brothers of the Knights of Columbus, whose presence and service helped create a reverent and prayerful atmosphere within the hospital grounds.

🚑💓 DRYLMH Nursing Service Strengthens Life-Saving Skills through ACLS Training 💓🚑

The DRYLMH Nursing Service Personnel successfully completed a 2-Day Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Training conducted by the Emergency Hospital Training Center, reaffirming their commitment to excellence in emergency and critical care.

The intensive training enhanced participants’ competencies in managing cardiac emergencies through in-depth discussions and simulations on Adult and Pediatric Cardiac Arrest Algorithms, Adult and Pediatric Tachycardia and Bradycardia Algorithms, and ECG Interpretation. These essential skills equip nurses to respond promptly, accurately, and confidently during life-threatening situations.
