Work hand in hand with both body and mind through our dynamic color-sorting obstacle course activity.

This interactive experience challenges our kids to move with purpose while sharpening focus, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

โœจ SDSIS: INCLUSIVE EDUCATION ORIENTATION โœจ

Last Monday, our respective teachers, T. Ange and SLP Cams, conducted Part 2 of our Inclusive Education orientation. The session focused on the vital roles of SNED teachers and speech therapists within the school setting.

We look forward to further educating the SDSIS team and strengthening collaborative efforts to better support and empower our neurodiverse students.

Thank you Saint Dominic Savio International School for this opportunity! ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’™

๐ŸŒŸ SNED HIGHLIGHTS ๐ŸŒŸ

Teach them young! ๐ŸŒฑ Helping with simple chores like hanging clothes after laundry is a great way to introduce children to responsibility and independence. Through this everyday activity, kids learn the value of helping at home while feeling proud to contribute in meaningful ways.

Beyond building good habits, hanging clothes also strengthens their hand and finger muscles, improves coordination, and supports the fine motor skills they need for daily tasks such as buttoning, writing, and self-care. Itโ€™s a wonderful reminder that learning doesnโ€™t only happen in the classroomโ€”sometimes the best lessons come from everyday moments at home.

๐ŸŒŸ Occupational Therapy HIGHLIGHTS ๐ŸŒŸ

What a fun and engaging way to strengthen those cute little hands! ๐Ÿ’• Our pompom transfer activity is a wonderful hands-on experience that supports fine motor development in young learners. Using a clothespin, the children carefully pick up colorful pompoms and transfer them onto the tape, strengthening their finger muscles, hand-eye coordination, and grip control along the way.

Best of all, the little ones are fully enjoying the processโ€”learning through play, exploring colors and textures, and building confidence with every successful transfer. A simple activity with big developmental benefits! โœจ

๐ŸŒŸ OT ACTIVITY: SORTING NUMBERS ๐ŸŒŸ

Letโ€™s test and strengthen our focus by sorting out specific numbers within a sea of numbers.

This activity challenges children to concentrate, visually scan, and discriminate between similar-looking numbers.

The use of crayons and symbols helps differentiate the numbers from one another, making the task more engaging while supporting visual organization and color recognition.

Additionally, coloring and marking numbers promote fine motor control and reinforces number recognition, attention to detail, and sustained focusโ€”skills that are essential for academic learning and everyday problem-solving.

๐ŸŒŸ OT ACTIVITY: UNTANGLE THE WEB ๐ŸŒŸ

Untangling the web yarn offers numerous benefits for children, as it targets the development of multiple essential skills.

This activity helps improve fine motor skills by requiring precise finger movements and controlled hand actions. It also strengthens eyeโ€“hand coordination, as children must visually track the yarn while manipulating it with their hands.

In addition, the task promotes positive work behaviors such as patience, focus, problem-solving, and persistence.

Together, these skills are vital for successfully performing everyday activities, including writing, dressing, and completing classroom tasks. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’š

๐ŸŒŸ OT: COMMUNITY INTEGRATION ๐ŸŒŸ

In Occupational Therapy, we teach our students the value of independence, as it is an essential part of daily living. Independence is one of the most precious gifts a parent can give a childโ€”allowing them the opportunity to stand on their own.

For our adult re-learners, we focus on fostering independence not only in self-care skills but also in community participation, such as purchasing essential items and managing everyday activities.
