Our seven incoming Medical Technology Interns participated in a comprehensive orientation session held last March 9 at the Laboratory Conference Room of Dr. Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital and Sanitarium.

This is to mark the beginning of their 6-month clinical internship program with our new affiliated hospital. The orientation was given by Alexis Anne Baloro-Disu, RMT, DTA, MSMLS (Assistant Training Officer/Medical technologist I) and Julie Ann T. Soler, RN (Nurse Supervisor, Medical Ward & Critical Care Unit).

The session focused on crucial hospital protocols, laboratory safety guidelines, infection prevention and control, and performance expectations to prepare them for the upcoming rotation. This essential training step aims to transition students from academic learning to professional practice, ensuring they are ready to contribute to patient care as competent and ethical laboratory professionals.

Our Medical Technology Interns during an orientation program held today, March 07, at the Conference Room at Las Pinas Doctors Hospital. The orientation was presented by Ms. Denise Marguerite H. Asuncion, RMT, DTA, also an SSLC alumna who is currently the Laboratory Training Officer.

This captures the mid-point transition as they begin the second hospital affiliation. This allows the students to familiarize with a new set of laboratory workflows, specific safety equipments and institutional policies, shifting from a government hospital to a private one. As they prepare to rotate through different laboratory sections in this new setting, the interns demonstrate confidence and focus needed to adapt to a fresh clinical environment.

The Monarch’s Cup has come to an end, and our hearts are full!

It wasn’t just about the scores on the board, but the grit of our athletes, the loud cheers from the sidelines, and the unwavering support of our teachers and friends. Whether we took home a trophy or a tough lesson, we did it together as one team.

Congratulations to every single student who stepped out onto the court and gave it their best!

Jose Maria Ochave, President from Unilab Education. Together, we are bridging the gap between academia and industry through innovative, hands-on learning initiatives.

Through these initiatives, UniEd and Southville are committed to delivering authentic clinical exposure and industry-led training that empowers the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Ms. Angeles and Ms. Alingog Marquez of the College of MT attended the workshop and launching of Bio Rad's newest Molbio equipment (new third generation PCR - the QX700 Droplet Digital Polymerase Chain Reaction) at the Blue Leaf Cosmopolitan. The workshop was attended by other local and international researchers in the field of molecular biology.
