May payout na po ang DSWD para sa Social Pension (4th Quarter ng 2025) starting November 18 (Tuesday) hanggang November 21 (Friday) na gaganapin sa South Park Center, Alabang

🔔 Reminder: Ang Social Pension ay proyekto po ng national government sa ilalim ng DSWD, ayon sa Republic Act 9994 (Expanded Senior Citizens Act of 2010), at hindi ng Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Muntinlupa. Layunin nitong magbigay ng tulong-pinansyal sa mga senior citizen na:
• Walang trabaho o pinagkakakitaan
• Walang natatanggap na pension mula sa GSIS, SSS, o insurance
• Walang nakukuhang suporta mula sa pamilya

✅Para sa mga Senior Citizen Beneficiaries na kukuha ng kanilang social pension, dalhin ang inyong OSCA ID (original at photocopy na may 3 pirma)
✅ Para naman sa mga Authorized Representatives, dalhin ang mga sumusunod:
🆔 Original at photocopy ng Senior Citizen ID (may 3 pirma o thumbmark)
🆔 Original at photocopy ng valid ID ng representative
📝 DSWD-Templated Authorization Letter na pirmado ng senior citizen, kapitan/kagawad, OSCA, at representative (Makukuha ito sa OSCA o Senior President. Siguraduhing may dry seal mula sa barangay)
📸 Picture ng beneficiary at representative na hawak ang dyaryo o kalendaryo ng buwan ng Nobyembre

Para sa mga pumanaw na beneficiary (August – November 2025), dalhin ang:
• 🆔 Original at photocopy ng Senior Citizen ID
• 📄 Death Certificate PSA original or certified true copy

📌 Paalala sa lahat ng Senior Beneficiaries at Representatives: Magtungo po sa venue ng payout ayon sa oras na nakasaad sa inyong paanyaya.

What an incredible way to wrap up my last talk of the year for Philippine College of Geriatric Medicine 14th Annual Convention! 🎉

The theme, "Geriatrics and Beyond: Building Empowerment Yielding Outstanding, Nurturing, and Dignified Care," inspired us all to enhance our commitment to our seniors.

I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to deliver my talk, "Common Geriatric Emergencies: A Practical Guide," — a meaningful highlight for our specialty. It's truly an honor to be part of this vibrant community, sharing knowledge and forging friendships with colleagues from across the Philippines and Singapore.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗬𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗧𝗘𝗡𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡 refers to the AHA/ACC/AANP/AAP/AABC/ACCP/ACPM/AGS/AMA/ASPC/NMA/PCNA/SGIM Guideline for the Prevention, Detection, Evaluation, and Management of High Blood Pressure in Adults, which highlights the importance of lifestyle changes—such as following a heart-healthy diet, engaging in regular physical activity, maintaining a healthy weight, managing stress, and avoiding smoking and excessive alcohol consumption—to help prevent and control high blood pressure while lowering the risk of heart attack, stroke, and other chronic illnesses.

Following the release of the updated 2025 multisociety High Blood Pressure Guideline, which redefines how cardiovascular disease risk is assessed and managed in adults, a new ACC/AHA Scientific Statement introduces the PREVENT model (Predicting Risk of Cardiovascular Disease Events) and details the supporting evidence and rationale behind its use.

The use of the PREVENT risk calculator to estimate cardiovascular disease risk and guide drug treatment vs. use of pooled cohort equations is one of the biggest changes in the 2025 guideline. PREVENT, which combines measures of cardiovascular, kidney and metabolic health, delivers more precise estimates of 10-year risk of total cardiovascular disease (including atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease and heart failure).
