Gluteus Medius 🤩🤩🤩

The gluteus medius is one of the main pelvic stabilizer muscles (abductor of the hip joint) and plays a significant role in controlling the frontal plane motion of the femur and hip providing stability to the lumbopelvic-hip complex This stability may be important in controlling excessive movement and allowing adequate attenuation of forces throughout the lower back region. Gluteus medius weakness and consequential loss of dynamic lateral stability of the pelvis and lower back is suggested to lead to increased lateral trunk flexion and subsequent intervertebral disc compression as well as altered movement patterns which may contribute to the development or exacerbation of LBP during standing.
It also affects the overall performance of athletes during squats, lunges, deadlifts and so on and after doing this movements low back pain follows may due to G.med weakness.
As seen in the picture below when you have a a G.Med weakness the knee collpase medially, pelvic drop and lateral bending of the trunk.
Lack of control may cause pain in your hip, knee or lumbar region depending on the activity that may cause injuries in your acl, mcl, and othe knee related injuries..
Will give some few rehab exercise tips and movement pattern to strengthen your G.med 😉
