BEST WAYS TO PREVENT HYPERTENSION:

✔ MAINTAIN a healthy weight.
- When it comes to hypertension, weight is really crucial. Overweight or obese people should try to lose weight and normal weight people should avoid adding any weight.
✔ BALANCE your diet.
- Limit the intake of excess fats and sugar. Fat builds up plaques into our blood vessels causing it to narrow which causes hypertension. Eating unhealthy food may lead to weight gain which increases our risk to being overweight or obese.
✔ CUT the salt.
- Where sodium (found in salt) goes, water follows. Increase of water volume in our body increases the blood pressure. Therefore, the higher the sodium intake, the higher the blood pressure.
✔ EXERCISE regularly.
- Regular physical activity makes your heart stronger. A stronger heart can pump more blood with less effort. If your heart can work less to pump, the force on your arteries decreases, lowering your blood pressure.

Processed junk foods are all over he world nowadays. And this is the reason why the world is fatter and sicker than ever before. They are also low in fiber, protein and micronutrients (empty calories), but high in unhealthy ingredients like added sugar and refined grains.

BEST WAYS TO PREVENT DIABETES:

✔ REDUCE portion sizes.
- Cut portion sizes of the food you eat. Eat half a bagel instead of eating the whole bagel. Eat a 3-ounce hamburger instead of a 6-ounce hamburger. 3-ounce of a meat is about the size of our fist or a deck of cards.

✔ MOVE more each day
- You have to find ways to be active everyday. You have to be active for at least 30 minutes per day for 5 days a week. The best way to be active everyday is by walking. You can also do, jogging, biking, swimming, etc. Just be active everyday!

✔ MAKE healthy food choices.
- Look for ways to make healthy food choices. This will help you lower your weight and lower your chances of acquiring diabetes. You have to eat more veggies, fruit and whole grains instead of eating that sugary and fatty food you’ve always been eating. This will reduce the amount of fat and calories you take each day.

The most fattening things you can put in your body are SUGARY DRINKS. It. is because the brain does not register liquid sugar calories the same way as solid food. For this reason, when you drink soda, you end up eating more calories!

Sugary drinks are strongly associated with obesity, type 2 diabetes and all sorts of health problems.

Keep in mind that fruit juices are almost as bad as soda in this regard. They contain just as much sugar, and the small amounts of antioxidants do NOT negate the harmful effects of the sugar.
